I mean this year even.. Anthony Edwards needed 17 games to work his way into the starting line-up.
A top pick should end up being a starter pretty quickly, no doubt that's why they get drafted so high, but making them go out and earn the spot vs handing them the spot because they were drafted high is the difference.
Marvin Bagley went #2 overall and only started 2 of his 62 games played year 1.
Jaylen Brown went #3 overall and didn't start (save for 3 games due to injuries) until mid-season.
TT went 4th overall as mentioned and didn't start.
Thanks for the correction! I thought about Jaylen but I thought he did start. As for TT (IMHO) shouldn’t have been a lottery pick that year or started anyways.

Another clip. He’s moving alot faster with the ball.

That second jump is quite nice. He has lots of athleticism. He may not be able to break guys down with his dribble off the bat, but it is still surprisingly good.

He certainly can break players down, especially if they have any size to them. Even the more agile players won't have the length to alter his mission. He just has to get to his spots bc once he's there, no one can stop him.

He's too advanced skill wise to fail, even as a rookie. In four years, no one will be able to handle this guy. Even next year, he'll be a budding all star level player.

Initially guys are going to try to bully him and will rough him up physically. His ability to get up quickly is amazing. If he can get his shot off faster no one will be able to guard his shot at all.

He is already the best player in the league.

I still think Mobley will be at his best in a handful of years after he packs on some weight and moves to the five. He should still be mobile enough, and hopefully even more skilled, to pull all 5s out of the paint to the perimeter. If his shot improves, they'll play him close, and he'll just drive right by them. If they go small, he will bully. he is already showing a nice turnaround shot. More to come hopefully. I'm most excited about the defensive potential. Swatting shots with both hands, being able to explode to the perimeter on close outs.

Looking forward to the process.

WOW! Looks like we got a real active big guy. Can't wait to watch him develop.

That step through on the 3rd clip. whew Look at how far he can get in one step. It is just incredible. Footwork looks pretty good. His feet are amazing. Just takes so many choppy steps so fast.
