Isaiah Hartenstein: wowing people in Vegas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So 5 games into his Cavs career in 23 minutes a game he's at 10 pts,10 rbs, 3.5 assts and 1.2 blocks....helluva pick up I'd say.
I see he has a player option for next year at 1.7 million. I hope he's picking that option up. I want this guy in a Cavs uni
at least next year for sure.

If he decides not to pick up the option I imagine we could work something out with him anyway.

At that price, he seems like a no-brainer to keep around. If he opts out looking for a better payday, how high would we go?

The way he is playing I would easily give him 7 per, but try to get him for 3-5.

He has been clearly better than McGee. I am not sure why Denver didn't play him? He has been better defensively than I expected. I figured the fouls would be really bad, but that hasn't been much of a problem after that first game. He is handsy though.

At 22 and will very little playing time, you have to imagine he can be better.

Have you seen his gf? I would be handsy too.

Knowing we have to lock up Allen this off season I'm hoping they could lock him up for multiple years at 3-5 million like
Cavatt proposed.

Hartenstein is already one of the best passing big men I've seen. Two things contributed to that.

One, his Dad played at Oregon and then as a pro in Europe. I read a column where they interviewed him and he talked about how he thought it was important for little Isaiah to learn to play the entire game and not just be a post-up guy. So in youth leagues he had Isaiah playing point guard to develop his dribbling and passing.

Second, Hartenstein said that when he was on the Nuggets for 2.5 years he spent his time on the bench watching Jokic, who averaged between 7.0 - 8.7 assists per game the last three years and is probably the best passing big in the world.

So it's no surprise he's already had games of 6 and 7 assists. Last night I noticed they were handing him the ball at the top of the key extended and let him face the basket and make the pass while the other four plays set and curled off screens. He was like a point center, only he didn't dribble.

He's already an excellent passer and rebounder and he's only 22. He also showed an accurate little push shot from five feet that he can get off quickly. He's a lot better than I expected. If he can ever develop the ability to hit a 3-pointer from straight on - look out.

You just try to lock this fool up for like 5 years $30M and hope he takes the bait. I doubt that’s enough.
dude is a skilled 7 footer. Not amazing but just a skilled 7 footer is hard to come by. If he is a rotational 7 footer that isn’t a complete liability on either end, it’s probably going to cost more than $6M/year.

I've been impressed with Hartenstein, the past couple of games. I would love to keep on the team..

How much better than Hartenstein does Allen project to be over the next 3-4 years? $100 mil better?

I really hope we keep Hartenstein long term. 5 years $30M sounds great for both sides.
