Welcome Jaylon Tyson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think the way the roster is constructed, Jaylon will have to do better than just being as good or even slightly better than the players ahead of him...he's going to have to prove he is consistently better than them (aka, Okoro, Strus, etc...). Imo, it's obvious he is more talented than both, but definitely not better than either yet (if that makes sense). Anyways...he's going to have to make it undeniable he should play which might not happen this year.

If he does end up in the rotation without injuries and trades, that just means he really earned it and we will be better because of it.

I agree with others saying he really does fit well as the wing once he gets closer to his potential.

Well if you get 10 minutes of wrestling with Tatum, that might be enough to swing the game.. and not all of those folks will go against Tyson. A lot of contact is initiated by Tatum. Georges is not tiny tot, but Tatum threw him over like a punching dummy, and he may do the same to Tyson, but I am curious to see it..

Yeah that's the risk. A lot of mistakes can really sink you with a team like Boston.

I said last year the Cavs made too many mistakes to win at the highest level. I don't think that is true of this year's team.

Tyson isn't on that list of trusted players yet, but he could be
Tatum and Brown would likely have him in foul trouble real quick. Both because he would foul them and because he doesn't yet have any clout with the refs.

I think this is right. He's still a rookie and not likely to contribute to winning basketball if he plays big minutes. This year is about seeing if he has what it takes to be a contributor (it looks like he does), learn how to be a pro, get better, and then replace one of the higher salary guys in the next year or two. We have him and CPJ on great contracts for the next 3 years. I think they are going to contribute far above their salaries which is huge for a contending team that is on its way to salary constraints.

Didn't get much run this last game. Just some fouls. Would like to see him get a little bit more time to figure it out.

He seemed to get in the dog house for Niang and CPJs god awful play. Perhaps some was on him, but he looked far better than both, imo. Also, dude is strong, didn't get backed down.

Sure he's a bit too handsy on D, but I'll take it.

The one thing I'm not liking is apparently someone told him not to dribble much or play make, even when the guys get him the ball and it seems like he should drive or kick, he's always passing it back like a coach is yelling at him or something. It's weird. Not sure it's him (seems doubtful to me, though perhaps trying to prove he's useful without the ball in his hands...) or that there is actually a coach that told him he's "not the man" (most likely).

Personally I'd like to see if he could be LeVert light.

I think he knows he is supposed to play off ball. He's doing the right thing. It took him several minutes to get comfortable against New Orleans, but then it was on.

Agree he should handle the ball if it ends up with him.

I'd like to see him in with more starters. I have not had too much critical feedback about lineups so far, but playing the rook without some sturdier support structures seemed like an obvious problem.

I like the way Tyson moves his feet, but like a few other Cavs players, he gets a bit handsy on the defensive end. Needs to attend the Dean Wade School of Guarding with Your Body

Dean Wade School of Guarding With Your Body probably started in junior high school. You don’t get footwork like that quickly. Most players never get footwork that good. You also need the desire to bust your ass moving your feet on defense play after play which is uncommon.
