I agree with this. Drummond needs reined in. It is probably a very difficult task, and JB has to tread carefully to not mess up the locker room.
This is the only problem so far. There was a game when drummond got benched and we won, i thought drummond would get a clue but looks like he didn't.

I won't judge the offense until drummond is out or is playing significantly less minutes. This might be an FO decision why drummond plays, or maybe they are compiling in game tape of what drummond should and shouldn't do for coaching reasons.

But again... we are on top 3 of teams with players lost to injury and with schedule difficulty. The only games that frustrated me is the last knicks game and the first minny game. Everything else is acceptable or surprisingly pleasant.

Yeah, plus guys were never going to be able to sustain this all out defense for the whole year. They are still playing well, but the are getting tired.

JB just needs to leave Allen in a little longer, or bring him in earlier. Right now the thing people are frustrated with is that Drummond is not experiencing any consequences for putting up terrible shots.

I too was hoping he would pull him a little faster when he is playing like a black hole.

"Why did you take me out coach?" "Not playing Cavs ball. I will leave you in longer when you do"

I say it is that simple, but man must be nerve-wracking as a head coach.

The game you're talking about was the first Pistons game where Drummond got benched in the middle of the fourth quarter and never came in the game in overtime....

I agree with you about that last Knicks and first Minnesota game.

Honeymoon phase starting to wear off

At what point do we fire him? I know we are not talented, have had injuries etc etc. But being blown out by the Clippers bench is unacceptable. Our players seems to be regressing under him not improving, there are bad habits he’s allowing that are unacceptable. This team is bad but we shouldn’t be this bad..

Teams that are always bad, you need look no further than the man at the top. That's right, ole Dan Gilbert is the main reason that this team is a failure.

You can't keep firing coaches in the middle of the season and expect the young guys to develop.

Do I disagree with some of Bickerstaff decisions..no...but at what point do we allow the coach to develop the young players.

This organization is on its fifth coach in seven years. I would like some stability at that position.

yeah but what development are we seeing? This offense is trash. Look at Bulls and the wonders a proper coach is doing for their offense

The Bulls have a lot more offensive talent than we do, it's not the coach. We have 2 6' guards that are offensive threats, besides that there is nothing any team in the league will worry about unless you want to bring Drummond into the mix. I don't know if JB is a good coach or not, but there's no coach alive who create an offense with the crap we have on the floor.

I agree our team is very bad, but when pretty much every player ok the team is underachieving on the offensive end the coach lost likely has something to do with it. Drummond shooting 46% is 10% below his averages last year, Sexton is taking less 3s for some reason etc etc. Players are definitely the mains culprits but what we are seeing from JBB is exactly what Memphis fans were complaining about a few years ago.

A coach needs to put his players in a position to succeed, starting a 6,4 rookie at SF is dumb. He should be a 2 or coming off the bench. Drummond having a free pass to do wtv the fuck he wants is bad. Not bringing Sexton or Garland off the bench to address our non existent defence is dumb. Shooting a league fewest amount of 3s is dumb. List goes on

I think a lot of what you blaming on the coach is really on the players. You can't blame JB for Drummond's play. Some of it may be his back as he was playing better at the beginning of the year, but Drummond is Drummond, there's a reason Detroit traded him for a cup of coffee. As for the lack of 3's, some of that's on the players. They seem to have the green light, even Okoro is taking them and he should never even consider it. Cedi and Nance are both taking a career high in 3's per game and Prince is taking the same amount as he was as a Net, so I'm guessing the real issue is Garland and Sexton are not taking as many as they should. I too wish they'd take more, but the coach can't make them shoot it. Both love shooting floaters and that would have been great 20 years ago but those shots have almost vanished from today's game. Is it on JB that he has players whose game does not fit the 2020 version of the league? When Love comes back they can start to run some sort of offense and we can see what JB can do with it, but right now I can't blame him for having to run 2 guards who can score along with 3 guys who are no threat more than 3 feet from the hoop. As for Okoro playing, I agree it's senseless but I'm not sure if that's on the coach. My guess is that was the plan from day one, and they thought they had more there than they do. It's not like they have any better long term answers.

Cavs got a 19 point lead at half down to 9 with 3 minutes to go in 3rd. Then Murray started going nuts and our coach, while the lead ballooned back up to 23 in the 4th and we take...no timeouts. Not until the 5 minute mark in the 4th. Really frustrating to watch when you have a super young team trying to get back into it and the coach just strands by passively instead of trying to help them out.

He’s trash, don’t care if it’s bad firing and hiring new coaches every year. Better then staying behind a useless yes man.
