I hated that pull up 3 by DG only needed a 2. But you live with it I guess,
Sexton attacks the rim and if it isn't there passes out for the less % shot
DG should know better

For all of the bad calls based on Beal’s Academy Award acting, when Stevens actually fouled him there’s no call wtf.
I got to watch some of the game last night. Shout out @Jack Brickman - you just go to Yahoo Sports and hit play. Amazing.
I thought that period of time in the 2nd quarter where Harrell was just abusing Mobley - I thought JBB should have made a change more quickly.
Other than that, it looked like a team missing Sexton - Garland is pretty much allergic to the rim and I don’t think he is a wimp, I just don’t think he has the vertical or that 1st step.
Lots of passing but nobody like Sexton to exploit the holes that were created.
Okoro… he has to be able to do something on offense and let’s just say I am concerned. I think Windler has a better chance to be productive out there, yet he only gets 13 minutes v 28 minutes for Okoro who dropped 2 points on 1/4.

At the end of the day, it’s a mediocre Washington team who beat a very beat up Cavs team. It’s not a game to read too much into but it still stings. As long as we learn from it and continue to improve, it’s OK.

Have to bump this thread.

He's made rotational decisions that don't make a lot of sense, and the X's and O's leave a lot to be desired at times, but the team clearly responds to Bickerstaff. The resilience that they show every single night is unreal. They're never mentally out of any game, and they just play so damn HARD.

He deserves a ton of credit for building a culture.

I just have a sneaking suspicion he's the Mark Jackson to someone's Steve Kerr right now. Has the potential to get us close, but we need someone to take us all the way.

I get this feeling too. Just going to enjoy the moment since even mediocre coaches like Jackson and Casey can lead successful teams. Finding the right coach will be a bridge the Cavs will have to cross when they're ready

What beefs does everyone have with this dude?

Questionable substitutions/rotations/minutes management.

Inability to draw up anything resembling a basic inbounds play.

But, you can't deny that he's got this team leaving it all out on the court, each and every night. The players love him, and that's probably more than half the battle right there.

Dave Blatt was an Xs and Os coach that got shitcanned while having the best record in the Eastern Conference in what would ultimately be a championship year because his players hated him.

His half court offense is awful, also questionable rotations, and in my opinion doesn’t value spacing enough and far too often has too many non shooters on the floor. His defensive schemes however have been fantastic and even a critic like me has to admit he’s got the guys playing inspirational basketball.

In an ideal world we could somehow keep him as a defensive coordinator while if we ever find a Steve Kerr. Doubtful but would probably be awesome

however with the way games are being officiated this season (if this trend continues) he perhaps is a solid Head coach for us going forward

The inbounds plays are astonishingly incompetent. Maybe it's something small in the grand scheme of things but christ.

I remember Wade taking it out on the baseline last night and Garland coming across the lane, thinking "Oh my god finally we are going to not get cute, Garland is just going to go get the ball!" He turn makes a c-cut back into the lane, because you know, it would be awesome to inbound to a 6'1 guy under the basket. Then I'm thinking "Here we go again, we won't be able to inbound" and sure enough Wade has to throw a difficult pass that Mobley can't handle, turnover.

Unfortunately the NBA.com play-by-play is showing the wrong play when I click on this...
