How was Beilein handcuffing the defense? He was making them play man defense all the time for accountability and it just doesn't work in the NBA?

We've seen more defensive growth in 3 games than we did the rest of the year.

Didn’t JB say that JBB was running the defensive side of things? Was he sabotaging JB? Doesn’t matter now.

Yeah that is what i can't figure out. I do know Beilein didn't run switches almost at all. Everyone does in the NBA especially when the 3 is killing you.
I'm guessing Beilein thinks switching is lazy and didn't allow him to implement it? The defense looks a lot different and Bickerstaff is using defensive personnel to dictate lineups.

I just don't think Beilein handed him the reins here, because they are already doing things to mitigate the small backcourt that they weren't before. I'm not that good at reading defenses, I wish someone could explain it better.

They have not done it consistently, and it appears Drummond/Love combo is really weak defensively, but Bickerstaff has had them putting together impressive defensive quarters and he has done it with more than a single lineup. He is using Cedi and Porter together more, which I thought was good defensively against the Wiz and in the 2nd half against Miami. The Tristan/Nance pairing is the backbone of most of these.

If he can put Drummond in a better position defensively, it will completely change the dynamic of this team.

They are hedging way more.. that's what I noticed, but I did not watch carefully at all.

I know it's a sample size but the thing I like about Bickerstaff is that he rides the hot hand. It was Porter, Garland and Nance two days ago and tonight it was Sexton,Delly and Nance.

I'm not sure this recent play is evidence of Bickerstaff's genius. It seems to me that the team had turned on Beilein to the point where they are finally not sabotaging their play.

I think it is hard to argue that they don't have enough talent. Love TT and Nance are all legit. They have definitely been underachieving

Bickerstaff just got them to play together

JB seems to have a sense who is on and he plays those guys. Did not expect that from him from what I read.

Love, Nance, TT lineup is wild and it's working

Then your lack of effort is this....

What does a picture of the Browns have to do with the new Cavs coach?

He's going to run these guys into the ground with the minutes he's playing them to get that contract as well.

He has such a depleted team right now, lets see when he has everyone healthy if anyone logs over 36 minutes

They're young. I'm happy he's putting them through the fire. It will only make them better next year.
