I am Not totally in disagreement, but I’m wondering if you had a prediction for the first 20 games. I heard lots of people wonder whether we would win any of our first 15, and here we are the hardest working team in the league and .500 after the hardest 20 game start to the season in the league.

I’m just wondering if we are at or below where you thought we’d be, and whether you are crediting JBB at all for that difference.
OK 40 games.

Doesn't matter.

I expect the team to wear down and fade as the season goes on due his coaching style.

We aren't able to sustain injuries because the end of the bench is either awful or he won't trust them.

But I expect this early part of the season to probably be the highlight.

I just don't think his coaching style is conducive to winning over a schedule this long. Feel like he'd be a better college coach where rotations can be shorter and you don't have to worry about to back to backs or even really 2 games in 3 nights with trips across the country in betwee

I don't know if I really had a first 20 game prediction.

I did expect this to be a bad team overall though. Less than 30 wins.

My expectations have definitely went up from there though. Mobley is far better than I could have ever hoped. Immediately changed what this team could be.

I don't think Koby is going to actively be looking for another coach to replace JBB. I think Koby and JBB are pretty much tied to each other because Koby has cycled through so many coaches in his tenure that I can't see him being given the opportunity to run another coaching search.

I do think if a higher tier coach starts lobbying Koby and Gilbert for the job that JBB could be removed and replaced. I do think that some coach could see real potential in this team and sell their vision to Gilbert. This team has alot of potential and I don't think it would be that hard to sell an offensive that takes better advantage of the skills these players have.

He just need a young innovative guy to run the offense and inbound plays. JBB is a master motivator. Young Cavs play hard every night.

I think this is a band-aid though. A young innovative OC would get their own team in no time and just find one of the many defensive minded coaches to be one their assistants.

JBB had one of his best games but you won't hear shit about it because there was literally nothing negative about the game. The only thing I disliked was the victory cigar lineup, and that's a Koby problem.

Pangos has to go
Not a great career choice for that guy to leave bigger Euro money on the table to embarrass himself in the NBA. The whole signing is a car wreck for everyone concerned.

You ever wonder why a franchise that was extremely well run at the time like Houston didn't keep him on, even after having a winning record in that 1 season?

Or why Memphis fired him after 2 seasons?

And Memphis wasn't tanking. Conley and Gasol were on that team. They traded Gasol at the deadline because they were out of it.

What has he done to earn this type of stalwart defense?

This is confusing to me that a coach with a pretty Or track record has this many vocal supporters.

Memphis, meanwhile traded their best player after firing JBB and then got a lot better with the next coach the following season with an extremely young roster led by a rookie.

Houston got a lot better the following season, too.

I'll lay off of JBB. In 20 games, we'll revisit what everyone thinks of him.

So game 39.

EDIT: Houstons record the season before JBB. 56-26

After 57-27.

With JBB? 37-34. And Harden didn't miss one damn game.

And led the league in total minutes....shocking I know.
Because Hardin, you know , buys into a defensive coaches vision..

jbb will be replaced if he embarrasses himself in the playoffs 2-3 years from now. until/if that happens, he builds the defensive identity of this team and hone mobley's talents.

JBB's game management and timeouts were superb last night. When Dallas started to make a bit of a run to start the third quarter, he called a timeout, got the team settled down, and then we all watched what happened for the remainder of the quarter.

Overall I thought it was his best game of the season and one of the best that he's had as a head coach here.

It's not crazy that he might be getting more in tune with calling the game better now that he has set lineups.

He deserves a lot of credit. I can't see them firing him until there are actual expectations. It won't be this year or next probably.

The biggest criticisms I have seen is he was outcoached by Monty Williams, who has outcoached every other coach for lets see 17 games in a row?

Unseld and Kerr too maybe. Oh the best teams in the league? Cavs are basically in the next tier of teams as far as I can tell.

I was one of those people.

Hopefully he just continues to improve along with the rest of the team and that eliminates the desire/need to move on from him. Like him or hate him, I think it's fair to say that everyone that follows this team would prefer having the coaching situation work out, rather than trying to move on and find another one as this team finally seems to be exiting its rebuild.

Yep at some point, you need some stability to let a coach get better.

Yeah I would rather have Monty Williams, but he has gotten buy in and that is more important IMO than making the right xo's move every time. Especially in the NBA
