Welcome John Johnson III, S

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Boom.

Get me an EDGE to bookend Myles, AB!

I imagine a safety in the draft won't be on the table early. I like the free agency strategy of patch holes here, freeing the draft for true BPA.

I'm loving our front office so far.

Use free agency to get your coaches the pieces they absolutely need to be able to run their scheme.

Last year it was Hooper and Conklin, and while we all know my thoughts on Hooper as a player, I have no problem with Berry's philosophy. You have to make sure that the coaches have the ability to run their scheme, and if Njoku didn't show up last year, you couldn't leave Stefanski without a reliable starting tight end.

We absolutely required an improvement at safety, as the lack of quality at the position torpedoed our team last year. Johnson was the best safety available on the market after the other top guys got franchise-tagged. We targeted our guy and brought him in at a reasonable price. Bravo.

I suspect that, between free agency and the first two rounds of the draft, we'll address both defensive end and cornerback... with possibly a nice little pickup at defensive tackle.

I expect linebacker to continue to not be prioritized (unless JOK is there at 26.. in which case I may kidnap Berry and turn the pick in myself).

My buddy is a die hard Rams fan and basically texted me saying you guys got a legit beast. Said Jalen Ramsey considers him the best cover safety in football and that Johnson often put the rams defense in position with pre snap calls which is extremely rare

I don't know much about this guy but sounds like he's an immediate impact player on the defense which is fine by me.

Rams sound sad

"Johnson relayed the Rams’ defensive plays to his teammates on the field and hardly ever came off the field as a result. He helped get everyone aligned, called out defensive assignments and regularly made impressive plays in the open field on ball carriers.

Those traits won’t be easy to replace, but at least the Rams have the depth and talent pool to hopefully find someone who can step up and at least come close to replicating Johnson’s impact at some point down the line."

That’s exactly what we need on defense. Didn’t seem like we had a leader there last year.
