Kareem Hunt: One Pissed Off Runner!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For my money, this guy was the ultimate difference maker in today’s game. I wholeheartedly believe that if Hunt had not played today, not only would we have lost, we wouldn’t have even been in a position to win.

And it wasn’t even about his own numbers (which were pretty solid for not playing in almost a year), but just having him out on the field alongside Chubb completely throws opposing defenses out of whack. Kareem’s blocking instigated some of Chubb’s huge runs. His ability to be used as a fullback opened up the field a lot more. Buffalo just didn’t know how to handle that.

He was embarrassingly good as a lead blocker today

what an unselfish role he took on and he fucking flourished in it. He has constantly been a Nick Chubb hype man during his suspension and he was directly responsible for keeping Chubb clean on quite a few runs today

and he’s just so damn explosive. 3-6 is a balls record and we are almost certainly out of it, but the 1-2 punch of Chubb and Hunt is unreal and I hope we can continue to maximize it, which I thought we did a great job of today

Couldn't agree more.

Kareem Hunt is a fullback on steroids. With Hunt and Chubb in the same backfield, it's an old school approach that no NFL has truly had since...the Walsh 49ers maybe?

I feel like a genius for using him as a FB in Madden since August

All the things Hunt did today seemed so integral to the offense that I can't believe they settled for Hillard as our backup RB for 8 games and/or were willing to give up Duke, who seem to do the same stuff last season.

I thought Braxton Miller was going fill that role when he was brought in and even if you think he wasn't good, they seem to need someone to fill it. I know they were also trying to get Devalve was trying to be more of a full back.

It just seems odd that the front office and coaching staff would settle on trading for Taywan Taylor and keeping Hillard and D'Ernest Johnson as the possible solution. It's pretty clear now that the offense and Freddie/Baker needed someone that could be a blocker from the backfield, move out to a receiver, and pick up yards with screens.

Great post

Hunt’s been back for three games now, two against some pretty good defenses, and you can’t understate the impact he has had in opening up the offense. Obviously he’s an elite runner, but he’s also one of the best backs in the passing game and is a solid blocker on both passing and running downs. If anyone has the stats, I would love to see how the Browns look in every category when it comes to two back sets with Chubb and Hunt.

I know the chances aren’t great, but I would be thrilled if the Browns are able to hang onto Hunt past this year. Having one elite back is a luxury in today’s league; having two just isn’t fair. The argument could be made that the Browns have two of the five best running backs in the NFL on their roster.

Who feeds incarcerated bob this stuff? It seems like he’s half right but the other half is the more important details.
