Goodbye Larry Nance Jr.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
relatively happy with his start, playing much more like an energy big than a wannabe Blake two games in. Still think he needs to halve his 3pt attempts.

I've got no problem with him taking open shots. I want all of the players to do that when its available. Last night was the first time I've watched Nance Jr. as a Cav not hesitate at all when shooting from distance and it was great to see. He needs to keep doing that and the results will be what they are.

Will be out of the NBA when his contract is up

At Media Day, he said he took like 30,000 3 point attempts this summer.
That's honestly not that impressive. A lot of good high schoolers (not even talking D1 prospects) are in that ballpark, if not more.

Let us pray that somewhere out there is a team dumb enough to trade an end of the 1st round pick for him near the deadline.

What skills besides dunking is he good at? How is his on-ball defense?

So last night was his best performance so far.. what was different?

don't look now but he's shooting 37.5% on 3.4 3 point attempts per game this year...that's actually respectable so far

With his height, agility, and leaping ability I expect him to be a good rim defender and defensive player in general, but that doesn't seem to be the case. He gives up a lot of layups.

With Henson and Zizic out and Thompson a possibility to be traded down the road Nance is a key player for this team. They declined Zizic's option so I assume he'll be replaced by the draft pick. If Thompson isn't extended they can use the savings to sign another big.

According to BasketballReference.com, Nance is the worst player on the team in terms of on-off differential at -26.0 points per 100 possessions. Thompson is the best at +24.1. Of course, TT has the advantage of playing more minutes with Love, Cedi and Sexton.

Individually they have Nance ranked fourth on the team in win shares per 48 minutes at .101 with the league average being .100. Thompson, Clarkson, and Love are the top three and there's a significant drop-off behind them. After Nance the next highest is Cedi at .055 so if you believe these numbers the Cavs have three good players, one average player, and everybody else is way below average.

Our starting lineup is a big positive On/Off.

Cedi is +20 for the season (not counting this game)

TT is +24

Love is +10

Collin is +4

Garland -6

Larry Nance? -26!

And it's not consistent with the 2nd group. Nance has jus been this bad.
