Welcome Marquese Chriss

Is Preston playing anywhere ???

Erie Bayhawks....getting 7 minutes a game. I wish we could get the story of why suddenly the Cavs decide to waive him. They seemed committed to him and he had his best game right before they let him go.

Its pretty obvious this guy has a lot more natural talent than a player like Blossomgame as shown today he pretty much cruised to 13pts and 8rebs which would have been one of Blossomgames best games but his general carelessness and lack of attention is holding him back

Last night was pretty much the whole Chriss experience in a nutshell.

Made some threes, show good mobility and athleticism, but at the same time played with low effort and worse awareness with several boneheaded mental errors.

He clearly has legitimate NBA talent, his jumper form is pretty good and he can run and jump. But you wonder if he’s ever going to have a breakthrough mentally. His BBIQ is just so low.

He looked good enough to keep around, for awhile anyhow. The rest of this pitiful season will give us enough time to see what he has. We've had plenty of players with less talent. He had a nice interview after the game, seemed like a bright kid.

So if he plays the same level as last night, we will be able to flip him next year

Reminds me of you when we played in Sanford. Minus the form, mobility and athleticism.

The Peppermint Lounge doing fan favs like "Will it go round in Circles" and "Nothing from Nothing" which is a reflection of the basketball player with the same names career.

He is an expiring. We would have to sign him to a new contract
We do have his Bird Rights. I'd guess they are hoping to re-sign him at a low price to a shorter "prove yourself" contract for probably two years with a third year option. Should give them the option to keep him if the new coach can get through to him or flip him to a team after December next season.

He looks like one of the very few guys on the current roster who can knock down a three pointer with any consistency.

Yep. He also moves well without the ball. If only we didn't have ballhandlers who were committed to keeping the ball at all costs.

On a team that's rebuilding from scratch the way we are, I don't understand why so many people here seem to have already written him off.

I guess the thinking is, players never get any better or smarter than what they show themselves to be at the age of 20, 21. Guys like Sexton and Chriss will always be who they are right at this minute, and will never develop. I just don't understand that way of thinking.

I think most of us are trying not to get our hopes up. People also say he is the dumbest player of all time. He secured a loose ball last night so lazy with one hand that they just looked it away again.

I'd love to have gotten a legit piece and his raw talent is undeniable. He gets that 3 up so fast it's pretty amazing. He can jump 3 times so quick, but the lazy first attempt that made him have to jump 3 times is not great.

The big question I guess is so you want to give him minutes over Zizic . I don't

I think we saw some good ball movement last night when Love was in the game. I actually wanted Nik Stauskas to stay because at least we would have a willing spot up shooter and hopefully would improve ball movement. I know Stauskas isn't a great 3 pt shooter but he probably would have been average and that would have at least developed better habits in our guards.
