Welcome Marquese Chriss

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Erie Bayhawks....getting 7 minutes a game. I wish we could get the story of why suddenly the Cavs decide to waive him. They seemed committed to him and he had his best game right before they let him go.

Let's start with the fact that I don't know anything. But from what's been written and from whats not been written, seems like basketball is sort of a side show for Preston. Seems like his full time profession might have been and probably still remains being a shady guy with questionable decision making that you don't really want hanging around your team.

So based on your comments this guy's ceiling is Drew Gooden with blocking ability? Physically gifted and have some skills but low motor, low focus/effort and bonehead plays?

You guys sure are hard on some poor kid we got along with a first round draft choice.

I think we saw some good ball movement last night when Love was in the game. I actually wanted Nik Stauskas to stay because at least we would have a willing spot up shooter and hopefully would improve ball movement. I know Stauskas isn't a great 3 pt shooter but he probably would have been average and that would have at least developed better habits in our guards.

Yeah. The few minutes of Kevin Love proved that if he continues to play real minutes, the tank is over, LOL. Just watching Sexton when Kevin Love was on the floor was like night and day (and it doesn't hurt that Sexton is slowly starting to figure out this whole "NBA" thing with how he's adjusted his "in the paint" scoring at the same time). I do agree a spot up shooter would do wonders.

This guy should be at the end of the bench, ready for nothing but garbage minutes.

Watch how frequently he loafs up and down the court, playing catch-up to his man on defense and only hustling on offense if he thinks he is getting the rock.

On the defensive end, he routinely watches his man from afar and when a shot goes up he rarely gets even inside the foul line(rebounds, we don't need no stinking rebounds).

He also makes a point to gripe at the refs, like he thinks he deserves 'star' calls.

To hell with his ability to shoot an outside jumper.

Burying Z behind this stiff is a crime.

I finally realized Drew is just playing him over Zizic because he knows if Z got 25-30 mins a game, he’d figure out how to dominate the post and destroy the tank. Drew playing chess

The "burying Zizic" aspect seems so very overblown here, and I still don't understand it. This team isn't going to have a good offensive system this year. We all know Larry Drew is either in lame duck or "job the game at all costs" mode. Chriss will likely see reduced minutes over time. He's a PF, one of our most stocked positions. He's probably going to be coming off the bench more often than not until a real offense is installed.

Until we're at the point where Kevin Love is seeing regular starting time I wouldn't worry so much about Zizic. Also note that we're lucky to see him at all because TT is also out.

I cringed reading this but unfortunately see the comparison.

Chriss can be way better from the outside. However, Chriss will never have the longevity in the NBA that Gooden had. Chriss just isn't showing any signs of the motor/ball IQ that'll keep him around for a long time.

I do like him as a prospect on our team. We suck, he's the perfect guy to gamble on. So with that being said, I'd love a 3 year deal next year on the cheap (3rd year being a team option) just to see if the light will ever come on for him.

It seems so often with guys like this even when the "lights come on" it's still not really what you want. Hassan Whiteside being like the ideal version. He's still in trade talks all the time. For a guy who puts up numbers like he does, the bonehead part seems to still drive coaches nuts. We should be so lucky.

Drew Gooden seems to be a really nice dude and have bball skills & athletic skills... But remember him looking like a space cadet on the court a lot of times...

Chriss seems to be more athletic than Gooden, hopefully he can develop into a backup big with Cavs, otherwise he might not get another gig in the NBA...

I was thinking Chriss makes Gooden looks like an honors student...

I don't think I joined this forum until sometime before Kyrie was drafted, but LeBron had left, but if I were around back in the Gooden days, I would have totally called him "Duck Tail" cause of that hilarious hairstyle he had

Duck flap as well. It was fun times. I wasn't on this board then either, but my friend always said he looked like Wimpy from Popeye which was dead on

I think Chris is playing well enough to earn a contract. If he keeps this up I think he gets minutes ahead of zizic..2 reasons

We have no intention of trading zizic and he would negatively affect the tank..

We have every intention of trading Chris's. If he plays well for the balance, he helps the tank but might be good enough for us to sign, then trade when we are ready to exit the tank..
