Rajon HOT WATER Rondo

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nah. I've never been pro Rondo. Bringing him in was a bad idea, and I've been saying it from the start. I don't think he fits the culture of this team, and I don't think he's capable of playing substantial minutes at backup PG for a winning team like this.

I understand I may look like an irrational hater right now, with everyone being in love with Rondo – hey, we "gave up nothing" to get him. But we'll see who was right at the end of the season. It's not the point that we gave up nothing… as the main backup PG (if he ever gets healthy), Rondo has a huge responsibility and he can also fuck up a lot of things for us.

Does it matter that he's also an arrogant asshole? Maybe it does. This is a team of dudes with low level egos and team-centric mentalities. Chemistry matters. Character matters.

All true, but along with being an asshole Rondo is extremely smart. He doesn’t have the leverage or significance on this team to get away with being a jerk to other players. He is not going to be the culture setter or leader of the team, even Stevens is more of that than he will be. This isn’t his opportunity to be a jerk, this is his opportunity to get a few more on court accomplishments before retiring, and I think he knows that.

I was impressed by his performance in the playoff bubble in 2020, kept his head down and made significant contributions. Properly motivated he might have something to give

He’s a turd. But he’s only around a few months then he’s someone else’s problem.

Was reading an AMA with a former NBA ball boy. When asked which player was the biggest asshole,

“Rondo. He had a thing called ‘Rondo boot camp’ where he would just yell at me and everyone else to run around him. He would pass balls to us when we weren’t looking even though he was suppose to be shooting. He would pass balls to other players while they were shooting and not looking so then we had to fetch it. And he would just slap balls out of our hands after rebounding and say ‘you gotta be ready kid’ and then would pass a ball to my temple as hard as humanely possible. He also never tipped which my income was pretty much all tips”
Are we sure this is legit? This sounds like a @The Oi special story. Are NBA players just keeping cash in their pockets during practice/shootaround to tip the ball boy?

I have a relative pretty high up in the NBA administration. Told me that Rondo is one of the biggest assholes he’s ever met and this is widely known. This is based on recent interaction.

So that’s just another way he can never replace Rubio. But damn he’s a smart player on the court.
Every team needs one of these get under your skin kind of players. You just need to channel their natural instincts toward the players on the other team and away from his teammates.

Let's not dive too deep into this, I want to believe it

It’s legit. They usually do it in the locker room after games when they’re hanging out. Certain players have favorite staff who they want helping them pre-game and stuff like that.

I find it extremely weird that players are expected to tip instead of owners paying these people a decent wage, but whatever.

I have a sneaking suspicion most owners didn't get to where they are by paying people decent wages....

I have to say I wasn't shocked by the ballboy story after reading about Rondo's HS days, the one where a teacher asked him a question in class and Rondo just stared ahead stone faced, not reacting in any way or even acknowledging the teacher's presence... and his hypeman started yelling "This is Rajon Rondo, he's going to the NBA, he don't need no motherfucking geography" or some shit.

Yeah.... Jarrett Allen this dude is not

Maybe Rondo isn't injured and the good, nerdy guys led by Allen just told him to sit until he adjusts his attitude and changes sides?

Something to think about...

Lotta these dudes weren’t raised right. Just won the genetic lottery.

I heard not only has Rondo already thrown soup at fellow players for the locker room thermostat being set too high and costing the arena owners a ton in energy costs, but a credible source on 4chan says he went into JBBs office after the Kings game and defecated on his desk and was quoted as saying “that’s what I think about your coaching”.

Don't worry, everyone is fine, Rondo missed both his teammates and the desk.
