Ricky Rubio - Take the Money and Limp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Everyone. He made it clear that if he was going to play again it wouldn't be in the NBA, it would be in his native Spain.

Good for him. Wish him nothing but the best.

Exactly. He made it clear that the tailspin mentally was being away from his family who live year round in Spain. He is now playing in Spain. Plus that knee never really looked right, not sure if he is better than CPJ at this point.

I am just of the belief to let it go, he gave back money, we have money now to sign a couple of vet mins after the buy out although one probably goes to CPJ. It wasnt my money whatever he got paid and the team has wiggle room now so I dont care, hope he is happy and I am enjoying a very good and fun Cavs season.

I’m over this guy but I do think the thread title should be “Ricky Rubio - Take The Money And Run.”

It’s a joke, I don’t want to hate on the guy.

lowkey (maybe not even low) the Cavs got a better outcome from Ricky than the Kevin Love situation. and for that I'm grateful.

And 2021 Ricky was one of the best things to happen to this franchise. Even if it was meant to be short-lived. I will stand on that.

Ricky and SpongeBob for the G's were short term sparks for Cleveland teams that we should fondly remember. Not peak Ryan Merritt, but close.

Unacceptable to the people with actual life problems regarding the whole 'mental health'. Dude just wanted his money/most of his money, found a very good loophole and exploited it for HIS gain.

He lost his love for the NBA, not the game, such a tough hurdle to overcome in the mental health category.

I like honesty. Just be honest.

As fans, we don't really know just how long he had been suffering from depression. Based off his comments, it seemed like it got really bad over the summer and he needed to make some significant life changes.

Good on him for engaging with his passion again. Hopefully this means he is managing his mental health well.

We have some real mental health advocates in here.

There is still a long way to go before for the mass majority of people are aware of the effects of mental illness and accepting of those suffering from it.
