Ricky Rubio - Take the Money and Limp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Was he guarding Tyus Jones when he went off? Offensively undeniable. I though the Cavs were on the same page defensively only for a few good stretches. They were not communicating enough
i'm excited to see once mobley gets comfortable and become the defense orchestrator. morant got off because the switching defense wasn't good. having someone telling the guards to go over, under, switch or trap will be a very big thing.

Like the veteran PG can't keep melting down late in games for whole stretches.

He HAS to be the steady hand, not the guy who just comes unglued and starts tossing the ball all over the court.

Just filthy... and he made the pass while looking like Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting.

That was a beautiful pass. Problem is, he tried some passes with a similar degree of difficulty when the game was still within reach in the 4th quarter and pretty much all of them became costly turnovers.

Yeah he melted down in the 4th quarter. He's played alot minutes the first 2 games not to mention all the basketball he played over the summer internationally. He took responsibility for the turnovers after the game.

That was probably the biggest disappointment last night. I still have hope that he can be a factor in showing some key players how to play winning basketball, but last night he was giving the example of how to lose in crunch time.

Yeah. Ricky needs to cool it. I'm a big fan of his but we don't need him to be launching threes without a single pass or trying preposterous passes in critical situations. That's not OK for Sexton and it's not OK for Rubio.

He's 3-7 and 3-6 from outside in 2 games. He needs to keep it up. Just must cut the stupid turnovers, he had some brainfart passes.

Cavs don't have any allstars that Rubio can defer to in clutch situations. He's good to get your offense running thru the game, but in tense moments he's better off handing the ball to a guy like Booker or Mitchell and concentrate on doing the small things on both ends of the court.

Come on. Just take a look at the guy's career averages. He'll end up drifting back to 32% or whatever, and it'll get ugly.

The fact that he's in the middle of a non-shooter's hot streak doesn't mean we should be leaning on Rubio's scoring. Yes, he needs to be respectable from the perimeter to keep defenses honest, but after all the preaching about ball movement, Ricky calling his own number very early in the shot clock is kind of ridiculous.

The problem is he doesn't have many proper scorers around him that he can defer the shots to. The cavs are full of underachievers and guys who are just not ready yet. It's the roster problem.
