Welcome to Cleveland, Demetric Felton

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think Duke was more than a gadget guy. He wasn't a three down bellcow back, but he was a really good NFL player and, while he seemed to get a reputation as injury prone because he often limped off the field, he was never really hurt to the point where he actually missed games.

Felton is a sixth round pick who has had two good NFL plays. I think he looked fantastic today, and I liked the pick, but let's not get ahead of our skis here.
I think they're different.

Both of them could be better than James White was for the Brady Patriots.

Duke has more speed. Felton has more quick shifty jitterbug stuff. Duke could get separation on routes via speed. Felton can get separation on routes with quickness and footwork.

I'd rather have Felton run an arrow route. I'd rather have Duke run a wheel. I trust Felton to make someone miss. I trust Duke to hit a crease and get vertical.

As runners, I'd be lying to you if I said I knew anything about Felton's vision and patience. Just haven't seen enough to be informed yet.

I agree. I just really don't like the Duke disparagement when he has been one of the few bright spots this team has seen in the past twenty years up until the last two years. Duke played lights out for us on a truly terrible team, and then asked for a trade after we drafted a RB in the second round and brought in Carlos Hyde. I don't hate him for that any more than I hate Njoku for asking for a trade after we signed Hooper last year coming off a really disappointing season.

Duke Johnson had over 1000 yards on a shit Hue Jackson team where he was the lone bright spot. Felton has fifty yards. Keep it in perspective.

that’s more me not thinking of a term for someone in between gadget guy and bell cow; I agree completely in principle

Reminds me of this Metcalf play 21 second in where he "put the wiggle and jiggle on him"--

Metcalf had a gear Felton doesnt have, but I agree there are some similarities there.

This is where I'm at--especially watching this play. Metcalf minus a gear.

And to be clear Metcalf minus a gear is still really fucking good, especially for a late round pick.

A threat to score from anywhere on the field is *absolutely* a valuable asset, regardless of when/how they were added.

Absolutely. Metcalf was taken 13th overall.

Eric was a clone of his dad Terry which i always found interesting, but i love what i saw from Felton yesterday, that catch and run was amazing, about 4 different jukes in there, lol.
