Rookie treatment. Played really well. Wish he hit that 3 at the end. Felt like the last chance
the refs were brutal on him in the first half. It's a shame because he was poised to have a solid game with Collin out and him getting minutes at the 2.

I'm still super bull-ish on Okoro.

Westbrook was the first guy in a while that just caught him with old vet tricks. He has been pretty good dealing with that stuff lately. Some of it was as you say, just a crock. I don't think the Wiz actually played the better game. Swallowed their whistles on one end there down the stretch. Darius didn't just miss those last 2 looks.

I hope Darius gets more calls next year. He is getting bumped more at the rim as his finishing has improved, and he isn't getting many whistles.

right: in a league that allowed Harden to be MVP thanks in large part to his ability to call his own fouls (many of which you'd be embarrassed to call at the YMCA), you'd think Darius could convince a ref or two to blow the whistle.

The thing that still concerns me is the hustle + AST stats. 6.8 per 36 is more underwhelming. I know Jaylen Brown is the go to with Okoro but even in year one, when Brown was extremely raw, he was at 9. That is 25% more output, in addition to some more promising shooting markers. I thought you would see improvement there over time, especially rebounding.......but Isaac has hovered at 3 rebounds per 36 throughout his monthly splits. Butler was similar to Brown....in that he was producing in that 9+ range as his offense developed, which helped add value until his skill caught up.

Shooting has been marginally better post All-star, aided by a FT% bump......but generally, he seems to be a guy that is just really erratic offensively. That is why I'd like to see him be more impactful in those hustle categories. I can't quite put my finger on why he just hasn't been better there. He has the makings of someone who should really be a pest, producing those hustle stats but he just doesn't. 12 games he's had 1 or 0 rebounds. Only 11 times, he's had more than 3. Been tough to figure out.

Selfishly, I hope they hold Collin out just to see a 10-11 game sample of Okoro at the 2. If he shows some more marked improvement rebounding, it is possible it is just that playing the 3 (relative to his size), is going to choke out those additional hustle stats, for better or worse. I would hope that isn't the case, as that would apply more downward pressure on his offense improving and could speed up his place in the rotation being eaten away at.

Hopefully he develops more consistency on his outside shot and improve his ballhandling a bit... He could be a high level role player if he does...

FT% is improving. Good sign

I don't know if I would call them glimpses. More like glimpses of glimpses. But ya I'm overall fine with the rookie year so far. I think something that will work in his favor is I'm pretty sure he's really durable (no jinx). He gets hammered and hits the floor a lot (see: any fastbreak). Sometimes he's dinged up but he can just roll through it. Being able to play consistently will give him a good chance at finding his footing.

Next year...I guess depending on who we draft I would hope for 28MPG / 10PPG (45/33/80) / 4RPG / 2APG / 2 STL+BLK

He looked GREAT in the fourth quarter last night. Tremendous defensive effort, aggressive to the rim, finished, grabbed boards in traffic.

Okoro has a long way to go but we continue to see glimpses of a very good player.

I like Okoro, but right now he is a sg, i dont see him being able to play next to Sexland.

Continue to develop, but one of the 3 will have to be a super sub off the bench if we continue with all 3.

Has anyone checked out Okoro's positional ratings this year?

While his offensive production is pretty even by position, there's a pretty significant positional difference in counterpart PER between SG and SF..

I hadn't seen those, but it's not a surprise to me. I always thought he was a 3, no matter how many people wish he was a 2 so they could move Sexton to the bench.

I think Okoro was drafted to be that super sub when KPJ was on the roster. He is probably the easiest to put on the bench for the next couple years and it's not going to cause issues with other players.

If Okoro develops to where he out plays Sexton, Garland, or who we draft this year (if it's a SF), I think we will be in a very good position as a team or Koby really screwed up with this year's draft.

That was the offensive performance that while no one expected on a nightly basis as a rookie, we wanted and needed to at least see was in there, both talent and willpower wise.

I think those that are willing to be patient with Okoro will be rewarded. He’s not going to force himself, not going to automatically view himself as a 16-20 shot per game guy. But in year two and especially year three, I think he’ll show more of this assertiveness and not defer by default to the other guys.

If he can do that, plus work himself into a reliable 3P shooter, he can be a very good player.

100% yes. These are the flashes you love to see. Especially the shot to tie the game at 114 during our last 4th Q possession. I'm still firmly high on Okoro and I think he has the chance to build himself in to a Jimmy Butler-type talent.
