No, you won't. Rebounding does not determine over 90% of games. Shooting is more important, and avoiding turnovers and getting to the FT line also matter a lot.
I’m not saying that as a fact AND 90% is an extreme but again I disagree with anybody who says rebounding isn’t important and doesn’t cost you wins (especially on the defensive end) ! But again that’s JMHO

Why are rebounds on the defensive end worth more than rebounds on the offensive end?

Why are rebounds on the defensive end worth more than rebounds on the offensive end?
Because when you lose rebounds at the defensive end you’re giving your opponent extra scoring opportunities/shots which is ALWAYS A BAD PRACTICE!

If we get rebounds at the offensive end then don’t we receive extra opportunities/shots which is ALWAYS A GOOD PRACTICE?

A loose ball is a zero sum event. One team gets it, one doesn’t.

What is really odd is that some players have a few months or years to prove their value and some have a couple minutes or a couple games. I just have to SMH.

Fair or not, the investment put in by the team is always going to affect the outlook of the fans.

As is the age of the player and number of years the player played in college.

So of course a fanbase is going to be far more patient with someone that their team spent a top5 pick on who is 36 game into their career after only one year of college than say someone who was a late first/2nd rounder/undrafted, played 3-4 years in college, and maybe a season or two in the pros already.

Did you have any specific players or comparisons in mind?

It you take quality high % shots on the offensive end that’s less offensive rebounds you have to worry about!
There’s an old saying in coaching
“If you score you MAY win. If your opponent never scores you NEVER lose”!
Games are won and lost on the defensive end!

I believe Okoro is a better playmaker than he's shown while playing out of position as a 3-D SF who has been 4th at best in the lineup's pecking order

Watch this guy... watch the first play on this tape against Mississippi State.

These are just clips but if you search you can find full-game tapes for his freshman year under Bruce Pearl.

He has been playing out of position this whole season and he's such a smart player on both ends of the floor that he's taken a back seat to fill the gaps/plug the holes in our offense. His offensive game at Auburn reminds me ALOT of Bradley Beal at Gainesville with a little less of a reliable jumper. His defensive game is better than Beal's and I just wish he had the opportunity to show his game on the Tourney level.

If you use the 2k translation for what I'm saying... he's a current 74 with a ceiling of 85-87 as a SF prospect, but he's a current 76 with a 88-92 ceiling as a SG prospect. The minute we move him over to SG/SF instead of SF/SG and bump him up in the pecking order of initiating offense, we'll see more of his playmaking skills, rebounding and scoring ratings unlock.

He's better than he's shown and part of what's holding him back is his own IQ and adjusting his game to compliment Sexland better

There's a lot of projection there, Rchfld. Okoro’s assist% in college was 13.1 (with a 15.2 turnover%). He shot .287 from 3 and .672 from the free throw line. Add that projection to projections for Garland, Windler and Mobley and the odds on everything working out great are very low IMO.

It's amazing that the Cavs don't have the best record in the NBA since every player we have compares to either an all star or a hall of famer!.
Okoro has "a little less of a reliable jumper" than Beal??? This is the first line of Beal's Florida bio: "A pure shooter with range that extends beyond the NBA three-point line". Does anything in that description sound ANYTHING like Okoro??? Beal 7 times his freshman year had 10 or more rebounds in a game, Okoro never did that even once in college and sometimes has to play a week+ in the NBA to notch 10 boards. Beal also had more assists, blocks and twice as many steals in his freshman year.
Quit comparing every Cavs to a star. Okoro might end up having a decent career, but to date his play more resembles Randolph Keyes than Bradley Beal.

I'll admit/concede that. re: projections

And I don't have the numbers to support what I project, and don't believe college percentages paint a accurate picture to what can be projected at the next level. There are so many variables not being considered when you look at college production.

Fuck your optimism man. Your sunny, pleasant disposition isn’t welcome around these parts.

I dont go off descriptions. I go off gameplay that I watch myself. That description is someone else's analysis after watching him play

I can tell you I remember Kenny Boyton, Scottie Wilbekin and this little NY PG who reminded me of Earl Boykins who were 1-2 & 3 initiators for Billy D that year. I can tell you I remember Beal playing power forward next to Patrick Young more than guard that year.

I can tell you he didnt shoot nearly as well as he projected to shoot coming out of Chaminade, and I can tell you he played with a physicality that made me want him BAD to stick next to Kyrie before that draft even though he was only supposed to be 6'3 or 6'4.

I cant debate a scout's description with you, but I can discuss the games I watched.

Okoro plays 33.2 mpg and I FEEL like he spends 95%+ standing in the corner. I hope JBB gets a bit more creative with his minutes moving forward. Let him do some fun things and make mistakes along the way.

I too feel he is being misused and miscast as a 3 & D

I think you capped FEEL to be sarcastic but I not only agree with you 100%, I literally typed what you just did in the very first sentence of my analysis of him above:
