I think the undersized thing is so overblown and almost feels like just finding a weakness for discussion sake amongst the media. I watched a lot of JOK in college and he's an incredibly instinctive guy with great tackling technique and he's a thumper. He makes Ward look like a twig in comparison and Denzel has had no issue playing with the "big boys".

Not sure why you would compare a corner with a linebacker. And Ward cant stay healthy because of size and other issues, so its not an invalid concern.

Thing is JOK clearly is willing to put the time in the weight room. He will add 10-15lbs of muscle over the next couple of years. Myles has gotten bigger, heck this offseason has shown that Myles no longer fits into his dress clothes he has gained so much muscle, lol

Lazy comparison - I guess I should've iterated that Ward at his size has continued to improve at tackling in the open field and he's often referred to as undersized but you're right, definitely not the best example.

I don't have a problem with his weight at all. I get the feeling that stuff is overblown. Look at someone like Jamal Adams who lives in the box and he's 6"1, 214lbs (JOK is 6"1, 216lbs). Football technique and instincts will decide his success.

I don't think he could go wrong adding a little more weight but too much could be detrimental. Maybe 5-10lbs over the next year would be solid? I kinda wanna see how he performs at his current weight, though.

At his pro day JOK was a bit over 6'1, which is fine, but he weighed 221 lbs. I would like to see JOK play at 230-235lbs. I dont think 9-14 lbs of muscle is a big deal. At 216lbs he would be very undersized for the box. Adams dosnt take on blockers nearly as often as a linebacker, size helps with the punishment. That said, I dont see any reason JOK doesnt get there in a couple of years, no reason he isnt 225lbs+ by opening day. 4 lbs of muscle can easily happen by then.

But funny you mention Jamal Adams, a very athletic 6th overall safety. Adams had a 20 yard dash at 4.13, JOK 4.12. Adams 3 cone was 6.96, JOK's was an insane 6.81 3 cone. Allot to be excited about with JOK, but he needs to add some weight to play LB and the fact he added 5lbs for his pro day is proof he knows that, so i am not worried.

I tend to agree with those saying JOK is just okay the way he is right now. When his body changes throughout his career, he will naturally lose some of the elite flexibility and explosiveness that makes him so incredible right now, so why rush the process by putting bulk onto his frame? I'm excited to see what he can do in the body he has right now... learning to diagnose an NFL offense is going to be quite enough as a rookie.

Doing some research, plenty of inside and outside linebackers in the modern NFL these days. Probably right i am over thinking his size.

His 3 cone is insane though, he is quick as fuck in space....like elite safety quick at the LB position.

Exactly my thought - Woods talked before the draft about playing a dime with 6 defensive backs. JOK is a linebacker who makes the nickel more like a dime. It's really a beautiful match for what Woods wants to do.

I understand, but adding muscle can take away some speed and explosiveness. We don't want him too bulky or we may chip away at what makes him special. At least for now, we have guys like Anthony Walker and Sione Takitaki to get some snaps for the early, run-defending downs. I'm cool with adding a few pounds but I'd really love to see him in action before "fixing" what may not be an issue at all for him.

Exactly why I wanted him so badly with our first pick. Still cannot believe we got him in the 2nd round.

Umm, too much definition? Is that something that someone might complain about?
