Really? Watson sexually assaulted numerous women. Royer has an ongoing relationship with an 18 year old he met when she was younger, and it looks like they are committed to each other. Weird, but I don't see the outrage. This isnt Karl Malone impregnating a 15 year old. Looks like someone on social media fishing.

It’s the whole illegal vs unethical conversation.

It doesn’t look like Royer did anything illegal, especially since the age of consent is 16 (gross), but holy hell is it unethical for this grown adult to be dating someone in high school.

Meh - I see nothing wrong with it.

Plenty of college guys have dated girls in high school, and we have no idea when the relationship became sexual. She certainly doesn't look like a child. The fact that she's the daughter of his position coach suggest that this wasn't an example of a older guy taking advantage of a younger woman.

Sorry...but this guy is a loser creep. I know some people are going to say "18 is fine, that number is legal for him, you're overreacting" but I have standards. I cannot believe he actually chose to wear #18 as a tight end. He could have picked a number in the 80's like a normal tight end, or maybe even in the 40's. But this is pretty twisted stuff.

My grandfather was in his late 20's when he married my grandmother at 17, and they were married for well over 50 years. And trust me, she was the dominant person in that relationship.

We don't know either of these people or their relative levels of maturity. We don't know when they started dating. Nor do we know when or even if the relationship became sexual. For all we know, they may both still be virgins. So no, I'm not going to judge the guy as a creep based just on the facts that we know.

If someone wants to judge me for this opinion, I couldn't really care less.

This discussion is dumb and the comparisons to the Watson situation are flat out stupid. I know many couples that have a 5–7-year age difference and the dating likely started when the girl was 18 or 19. Kudos to him for pulling a hot 18-year-old girl, who will likely be his wife soon.
