Back from the game...

-Got my first look of the new outside of the Big House. It looks pretty sweet, at least at night.

-Crisler is kind of a dump. Not sure how many people it holds, but it was fairly sparsely populated outside of the lower bowl.

-There were a lot of OSU fans there.

-The UM chants are much lamer at basketball games than football games. I hate them at football games too, but at least they have more effect when that many people are doing them.

-The UM dance squad was painful to watch...and not because of their looks. Even UM fans around us apologized for their efforts.

-There was a group of about 20 middle school aged kids with their chests painted for the good guys. They were having a blast.

-Did the refs seem as bad on tv as they did in person?

-I found it amusing that Hungry Howie's Pizza is the official pizza of the Michigan athletic department. Someone next to me said they signed a 6 year deal or something like that right before Brandon came aboard.

-UM put a lot of effort in taking Sullinger out of the game, but I could still see so many times where JS had great position and the perimeter guys just didn't pull the trigger on getting him the ball.

-Some of the UM guys were just on fire in the first half, hitting shots regardless of the defense.

-Why didn't the Bucks try to post up someone besides Sully? I have to believe that Lighty or Thomas could have abused UM down low. UM looked so much smaller than OSU from where I was sitting. Lighty took his man off the block once and had a nice and easy 4 footer in the lane, then never went back to that.

-Lighty has no movement in his lower body on his FTs. That has to play a part in his inefficiency at the line.

-Sully fouling out was pretty weak, but his one foul out by the three point line against the UM big man was a bad freshman mistake.

-I took a look around and couldn't believe how many people had their faces in their mobile devices...and during game action. How bad is our collective attention spans that we need to check our email and the web every 5 minutes?

-I made it a point to get to see this team live once this year and am glad I did. I like this collective unit and am excited to see how they embrace being the new #1 team in the land.

Wish I coulda went. Kid in my class went, told my teacher on Monday and he gave him an Excused absence to see the game. Lucky bastard & cool ass professor.

Good win. Even if we lose throughout the year, let's keep in the top 8. Would be good to grab a 1-8 seed.

A 1 seed is far better than a 2 seed. I know we will lose games in the Big Ten as teams can be hot on any day. Hopefully we can limit the loses until the tourney starts.

I agree with the OP. I screamed at one point in the 4th, "throw it to him!!" as Sullinger had position for what seemed like a long time and we just didn't throw the damn Ball to him. I also agree that posting up with Buford and Lighty would have worked almost every time. I sometimes think Matta missing the boat at times and you scratch your head at how things could be.

I like how Sullinger seems to see the floor and understands he has to pass to the guy open when double teamed. He should get better and better with it as we know teams will probably constantly change up how they handle the defense on him.

The perimeter players we have should be able to drive almost at will and whenever they wish. Guys like Buford and Lighty could almost drive to the paint each time for a bucket or a foul, or a kick to someone else open.

It's funny that OSU will now be #1 in the polls, but there seems to be tons of room for improvement with this team.

Each game I can't help but feel that the one guy that no one spoke of when we recruited him and he signed..... Aaron Craft, might just end up being the #2 freshman in the Big Ten this year next to Sullinger. This dude can play some basketball and does everything well.

Well, Hungry Howies is also from the Detroit area so it is not all out of this world. BTW, Michigan doesn't even have the best arena in Wastenaw County. I would say Eastern Michigan has the better of the two. EMU did a real nice job with their facility, but it is the only bright spot on that campus.

It's funny because the Michigan AD is the CEO of Domino's Pizza.

They have a nice baseball field. I liked that you could see into the football stadium from the field. Although EMU hasnt won a football game since 1966 and that was against a middle school.

Always tough to win on the road in the Big 10. I actually thought this was going to be a loss because of the way OSU played against Iowa and Minnesota combined with Michigan's effort against Kansas and the Hoke hiring. Buford kept them in the game in the 1st half and Michigan cooled off to start the 2nd half to help OSU ease ahead before falling apart at the foul line let Michigan back in the game.

My biggest concern right now is Lauderdale. He has been borderline horrendous the last few games. No reason why he can't clean the glass, block a few shots and get a few dunks a game based on his size and athleticism, but the only thing worse than his bball IQ right now is his hands. He needs to step it up.

Matta makes me a little nervous when he goes into a shell and shrinks the rotation way down. I think he can find more time for Thomas and also find a few minutes for Sibert here and there and it would keep some legs fresh and also be good experience for when those guys are needed down the road.

Nice to be #1, but I think a couple of road losses are on the horizon. No matter how good this team is, I'm not sure anybody can get through @ Purdue, @ Wisconsin and @ Minnesota unscathed, especially with the Big Ten refs lurking.
