with the Clippers going no where quick in the West I wonder if he will end up being on the block? I would think the fact that he is an expiring contract might mean the Clippers ask a lot for him because they could use that cap space in the effort of resigning Brand if he were to opt out. not a great player but could be a 2nd scoring option for the Cavaliers.

woiuld love to get Maggs but we dont have the assets to do it

Sam Cassell reportedly wants out as well...Both of those guys would start for us and we would instantly become 1000000000 times better

The problems with Maggette are this: he's about as injury prone as LH, he is as much of a complainer as "the greatest 3 point shooter of all time", and he's about as consistent as Gooden. Other than that, he'd be a great addition.

I don't want Maggette unless we trade Larry for him. But for Gooden and/or other pieces, no! He's always injured in the past 3 years. I want Larry to be the last player who was ruined by injuries on Cavs at least in the span of 5 years.

he is does get banged up a bit but really the only season he missed signficant time was 05-06 when he only played in 32 games. last year he played in 75 games and he has played in 23 of 28 this year.

as for his consistancy I don't watch may Clipper games but he has been putting up solid numbers at 20 and 6. looking at his game log he doesn't look like he is any different then any other guy who is a scorer rather then a shooter. he does have some poor shooting nights but he consistantly gets to the line and makes 82%.

as for complaining I think anymore you see more pro athletes that complain then don't. maybe some of that would go away if he was in a winning situation.

Ever notice we say this about virtually everyone who is associated with trade discussions...

I don't think the Cavs have the pieces to get Maggette.

George brought up Sam Cassell and he might be a guy the Cavs could get from the Clippers. He has an ending contract and would bring some veteran backcourt help.

In terms of trading, what kind of players could we get in return for the "pieces" we have to trade ?

We dont have the assets to get any player of significant value in this league. Thats why its always said and its why nothing ever goes down.

I'd probably look at something like the Flip Murray deal being the type of trade that would go down. The Cavs just don't have that much of value that they can give up.
The only way something bigger might happen is if the Cavs are willing to take back a big long term contract.
