It’s a brief sample size, but Bickerstaff specifically pointed to Porter’s evolution on defense, showing a propensity for being in the right spot and stepping up as a reliable team defender. - Chris Fedor

“I mean, he has so much to his game that we can explore. We’re just excited to bring that growth to light. He’s our youngest player, too -- he just turned 20. The sky’s the limit for him, but we have to keep him on a good routine and continue that growth. - Koby Altman

The Cavs have big plans for Porter in Year 2. He has the best chance to be the team’s foundational piece and sources say he is at the top of the Cleveland’s young player hierarchy, considered untouchable, to the point where teams won’t even ask about him in trades anymore. - Fedor

Coaches, teammates and members of the front office rave about Porter. His talent, upside and growth as a rookie played the biggest role in Jordan Clarkson’s December departure, as the Cavs were hoping to create a path to more playing time. Porter’s viewed as the most promising of all the young pieces - Fedor

The goal is to let [Porter] be more of a playmaker since multiple people inside the organization have labeled him “one of the best passers” on the team. - Fedor

If we get him to reach his potential (he can) be the cornerstone of an organization. His skill set is what the NBA is. - JBB

I just want to win. I can play zero minutes. If we win I don’t care. I’ve always been part of a winning culture, especially coming up before college where I used to win back home. I just love winning and competing and I want to see my brothers do great. - KPJ

The type of kid he is, he gets it. He loves to hoop. He’s competitive. He wants to be a part of the team, first and foremost. He’s not begging for touches, play calls or any of that stuff. He’s a competitor who wants to win and help the team first. - JBB

As athletic as I think I am, I can’t do some of the things [Kevin Porter, Jr’s] done. There are some things he does athletically and things he sees on the court that scream, ‘I will be in the league, playing at a high level, for a while.’ - Larry Nance, Jr

I think we really haven’t even tapped into his potential yet. He’s really incredible, what he will be capable of in the future. - Kevin Love

He sees the floor at a high level. I think quickly he can grow in that area and his elite playmaking ability can go to another level. So, we’re going to give him a shot to do a ton, we’re going to put the ball in his hands, we’re going to ask him to score, we’re going to ask him to facilitate. - JBB

Bickerstaff has been coaching in the NBA since 2004. He's seen a few players and I'm sure he's not easily impressed. Love and Nance have been around the block, too.

I don't think there is a reason to open new threads for every quote by the media/JBB regarding our players. I think it would be best to merge them all into one thread, or just post them in their respective threads.
