What they're saying about Larry Nance Jr

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There was a time when a top five pick was considered elite but because kids only stay in college 1-2 years now there really isn’t many “elite” players anymore. “Complete” to me is a player who can shoot effectively, able to create his own shot, rebound, handle the ball, pass effectively, play defense and run the floor. That, to me, is what a top five player should be able to do. Maybe I didn’t see enough of Okoro this year but what I did see was only three of those things (rebound, play D and run the floor)

Ok lets go through it. I am leaving out Patrick Williams. I'm least familiar with his game because he was projected later and everyone agrees he is an upside pick that is very young and sort of raw at the moment.

Shooting Create own shot Rebound Ball handling Passing Defense/Run floor
Edwards Poor selection/% Yes A Good Good 1:1 assist/TO bad Defense
Ball bad 72% ft Yes (bad shots) v good Best Best Bad Defense
Wiseman ? potential No V good ok poor Good rim prot, bad defense
Okoro Elite finishing poor ft% Yes B Ok Good Good Great

I think I might have taken Wiseman over Okoro if he had fallen. I would have taken Ball as well. I think Okoro and Ball have the fewest weaknesses in their games. None of these guys are complete and that was the whole problem with the draft. Ball was the #1 pick until he wasn't.

It just seems like you are ignoring other players flaws while thinking Okoro has no offensive game. I posted a video of full game highlights of Okoro in his thread, you should watch and see how involved he is in the offense.

I stand corrected! After watching the video you are absolutely correct. I'm still not a fan of his jump shooting form (that can be worked on) but you're right about the type of player he is.
