What's Your All-Time Indians Team?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Let's see what I can do from memory. I've been a fan since 1964.
C - Ray Fosse/Sandy Alomar Both had health problems, both hit with power and average. Fosse was probably better defensively
1B - Jim Thome he also played 3B & RF, but I've got other players for those. HoF
2B - Roberto Alomar - HoF, IMO
SS - Lou Beaudreau - heavy-hitting and good defensively. HoF Omar Vizquel is a close backup
3b - Jose Ramirez Buddy Belle was also a good hitter and great defensively.
LF - Rocky Colavito
CF - Tris Speaker - legendary HoF
RF - Manny Ramirez - HoF, IMO
DH - Albert Belle

RHP - Herb Score, Luis Tiant, Robert Feller HoF, Dennis Eckersley, Don Lemon, Sonny Siebert, Gaylord Perry HoF, Early Wynn HoF
LHP - Sam McDowell,

I've only got 9 pitchers, but at least 3 of the are hall of fame. I've only got one left-handed pitcher
Ummmm Herb was a LHP...
And Roberto Alomar is already in the HOF before he got himself banned from the game...
Overall a very good group put together....

@Stark

I wonder if we should do that indians/Guardians fantasy draft we did years ago once again with these new peeps and see what happens again...

Obviously, I'm not in touch. How did Roberto get banned?

I couldn't remember if Herb was a lefty. With that quality of pitching, we could probably get by with 9 pitchers.

Masterson, Kluber, Josh Outman(which is a great last name for a pitcher), and John Axford(who I actually forgot was on the team until I saw this picture)
I believe we have a winner.

Good list- I'd take Colavito out and replace with Albert Belle then add either Shoeless Joe Jackson or Nap Lajoie as the DH. Earl Averill also could use an honorable mention.

As far as pitchers, I think you need Kluber in there as well as Addie Joss.

Corey Kluber not being listed as a top-5 starter in club history is a travesty.

Good points. I forget about Shoeless Joe and Nap Lajoie. I knew Colavito wasn't the best we had, but I couldn't remember the others. Rocky did have like 360 career homers and he led the league in RBIs once. I also considered Luke Easter, since he had the longest home run at the Stadium (485 feet into the right-field upper deck--consider that a homer could got 485 feet and now leave the park!).

Kluber had some great seasons, but who would you take away? Sudden Sam? He was faster than Kluber and a lefty. Herb Score? One of our HoF pitchers? Since I only have 9 pitchers, I'd add him as a reliever. I've heard the name Addie Joss, but I don't know anything about him.

Woof! Shoeless Joe definitely beats out Rocky. Look at his career stats:

Amazingly, I'd replace Shoeless Joe with Napolean Lajoie. HoF and well-earned over 21 years. Amazing numbers for the dead ball era.

Another righty starter to consider for your team would be Stan Coveleski, master spitballer of the late teens early 20s.
