What's your perfect offseason?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Do the cavs still have the space to sign 2 max free agents this off season?

Irving/Delly/Jack
Waiters/Miles
LeBron
Bosh/Bennett
Embiid/

We have 32,044,677 committed in salary at the moment. I think AV is partially guaranteed for 2.5 million, so 34,544,677. If the cap is 60 million we would have about 25 million to work with.

If we make a trade for #1, Andy, and Tristan for Gasol we would lose about 2 million in cap space. If we waive Andy, and trade the #1 and TT, we would lose about 10 million.

A trade for a star is our best bet, not two signings.

However there are things we can do. For example trading TT/AB for a second round pick and cap space (Beasley, Miami trade). That could get us the cap space to legitimately offer two maxs.

what? 1st pick for gasol?

If we can get the second best C in the league, you bet. Maybe some have a different opinion, that is fine. This board would be boring if we didn't.

Parker/Wiggins/Embiid for 4 years and about 25 million (I do not know the exact number) > contract of Love,Gasol, etc for 14+ per season.

No way in hell I'm trading the 1st pick for Gasol... I think Embiid will be the better player anyways.

Draft a healthy Embiid, LeBron returns, Kyrie signs his extension, Ray Allen chases a ring with us and Anthony Bennett gets in shape and dominates summer league resulting in him being named the starter for the opener.

Kyrie - Dion - LBJ - Bennett - Embiid

Jack - Allen - TT - Andy - Zeller - Karasev - Felix

#1 pick is too valuable. A gamble sure, but 3 potential franchise changers are available.

I am offended by your lack of Delly on the bench. :D

My perfect offseason.

Trade whatever it takes sans Kyrie and sans #1 pick for Love. I don't care if we have to give 4 future 1sts, TT, and Bennett and more if we had to outbid another team. Huge gamble, yes... But think about how attractive it makes this team look for LeBron. Home town, #1 pick in the best draft in years (possibility of playing with the best big prospect since Duncan), Kyrie and Love. If Miami does not win the Finals, I think that lineup makes us the favorite for his services. I am sure we can work the back channels before making that deal, to make sure LeBron is interested in returning home.

I won't argue its value. It is the best asset you can have. That said it is not a guarantee, Love is, and if Love helped us get LeBron and another max FA, then you have to do it.

In my perfect world, we take Embiid and go into next year where AB plays well while Portland sucks. LA wants out, we package a couple of number #1s and AB+TT for LA, and then we ultimately get LeBron. Starters: KI, Dion, LBJ, LA, Embiid. Bench: Delly, Jack, Karasev, Andy, Zeller.

I do not think it is necessary to include it in a deal for Love. We can still absurdly overpay without giving it up.

The problem with that is, once Kyrie is given a max (especially if he gets the escalation clause), if we add another guy like LA, we won't have any room to get LeBron in 2015. This is the offseason that we can sign LeBron outright. This is our best shot at him.

My perfect offseason as of late is:

1. Trade TT, Dion, 2015 & 2016 1st round pick and Carrick to Minny for Kevin Love.

2. Trade AB & Jack for Thaddeus Young from Philly

3. Trade 2014 2nd rounder + future 1st rd pick (lottery protected) to HOU for Asik.

5. Draft Andrew Wiggins with 1st pick

4. Sign Kyrie to max, sign LeBron, and then bring on Coach Cal.

Kyrie/Wiggins/LBJ/Omer/Love
Delly/CJ/Sergey/Young/Andy
