What's your perfect offseason?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Perfect offseaon:
1. Keep Kyrie.
2. Take George Karl as a coach.
3. Draft HEALTHY Embiid
4. Trade for Kevin Love ( I would say future picks, andy, dion, tristan/bennett - no one will give them better offer)
5. Lebron is back.

Kyrie
SG (?)
Lebron
Love
Embiid

Champions or bust if they will stay healthy(?)

crazy idea, but here it goes anyway....

trade kyrie to sacramento in a package centered around cousins
sign kyle lowry
draft jabari parker

pg: lowry
sg: waiters
sf: parker
pf: TT/bennett
c: cousins

1. Hire vanderpool from Portland. Players coach who seems to have a very good resume and background that opened up his boundaries to be the total "package" as a coach in the NBA. Can grow with the young guys and become a great coach
2. Sign Irving to a max. He is a two time all star at only 22 years old which is just absurd to be honest. He got misused by Mike Brown and seemed like he hated the game last year. That is what Mike Brown and him overly complicating the game.
3. Trade Thompson for any shooting you can get. He is a solid player but does not fit David Griffins vision of spreading the floor and playing an efficient offensive game.
4. Trade Jack as for more shooting if possible. Nice guy but not the leader that he was cracked up to be and just not the minutes available to warrant his playing time. Rather give more PT to Delly behind Waiters and Irving.
5. Draft Joel Embiid. Good lord did we get lucky. The guy has Freakish size to go with freakish athleticism. He also is absurdly skilled for only playing basketball for 4 years. The guy got so much better throughout last year and every game I watched of Kansas he did one or two things that I did not see the last game. I mean this guy is an "elite" two way player in the making playing a position that doesn't have too many guys like him and can give the Cavs a huge advantage in the paint
6. Sign Lebron James. It seems unlikely but man with Irving and Waiters together and Embiid on board as well as Bennett developing and probably playing vastly better than last year. What a story this could be that can send shockwaves throughout the whole country. Also, Lebron would not have to carry as much as the burden because the Cavs would have solid options to go to score and Lebron would demand respect of the team and would demand that good defensive is being displayed

Perfect offseason:

1) Sign Lionel Hollins as head coach.
2) Draft a healthy Joel Embiid with the first pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
3) Welcome LeBron James back to Cleveland.
4) Sign Kyrie Irving to a max extension.
5) Resign CJ Miles and Luol Deng since we'd have his bird rights if I'm correct.
6) Find a way to resign Varejao to a smaller deal and keep him groomed until the playoffs where he can make the biggest impact and take a bulk of TT's/Zeller's backup minutes at the 4 and 5.
7) Cut ties with Alonzo Gee and Spencer Hawes.

PG : Irving / Jack
SG : Waiters / Delly
SF : Deng / Miles
PF: James / Bennett / Thompson
C : Embiid / Thompson / Zeller

Hey. You asked about my perfect offseason. Tell me a team with a core of Irving, Dion, LeBron, Deng, and Embiid wouldn't contend.

The perfect offseason would be to draft Jabari Parker #1, trade Anthony Bennett, Dion Waiters and our 2015 unprotected first for Kevin Love.

PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Sergey Karasev (three point specialist, great all around shooting guard.)
SF: Jabari Parker
PF: Kevin Love
C: Anderson Varejao
Bench
PG: Jarrett Jack
SG: Andre Dawkins (second round pick-up)
SF: Carrick Felix
SF: Alonzo Gee
PF: Tristan Thompson
C: Tyler Zeller

The Kevin Love trade is pretty risky and we're giving up a ton. I'd say we should also consider a trade for Larry Sanders. We'd probably need a rim protector next to Kevin Love and Sanders has pretty low value.

No way I give up Dion, Bennett, plus that unprotected pick for Love.

Not sure what your vision for that team is, but they'd still be pretty horrible, and back in the lottery.

You're basically starting two rookies since Karasev barely played, and then are relying on two more rookies (once again, given Felix's lack of experience) to be key bench contributors. There is zero offense on that bench.

I wouldn't mind bringing Love in, but not at that price.

Perfect offseason?

Draft a healthy Embiid.
Hire a coach.

LeBron openly expresses interest for a return to his 'home'town...

Gilbert puts on a 2 hour special with LeBron..
With ten minutes remaining in the special (where proceeds go to charity of course)

Gilbert looks like he is going in for a handshake deal with LeBron when suddenly from behind the curtain..

Delonte West appears out of nowhere..
Delonte kicks LeBron in the knee and proceeds to 'Stone Cold Stunner' him.

And I raise a glass, saluting our beloved(?) owner mister Gilbert...
Well done sir, well done.

Perfect indeed.

They draft Jo Jo. Anything after that is gravy.

Hire a good coach that can light a fire under this team's ass...

Draft Embiid, resign Deng or pry Gordon Hayward from Utah...

Embiid/Varejao
Thompson/Bennett
Deng-or-Hayward/Bennett/Gee
Waiters/Jack
Irving/Delly

Hire a proven coach that can command every bit of respect first and only.

Hopefully they hire a coach before the draft. So he can add some input and wisdom on each of the big 3.

In the end, draft Embiid.

Sign Lebron, easier said than done. But If not, contact Deng, we can't go into the season drafting Embiid and having a black hole at SF when we could of had Wiggins or Parker.

Ive been on this Love train, but Im jumping off. I think we'll go further by keeping our talent including LeBron coming back. Resign Andy and Hawes to reasonable prices.

The Cavs will be a deep team, championship contenders for that matter.

Irving/Jack
Dion/Sergey
LeBron/Felix/Gee
TT/Hawes/Bennett
Embiid/AV

That's a killer squad with mix and match players. LeBron and Hawes pick n pop would be Z esque, LeBron would also bring the best out of our young backcourt which could turn into the best in the league potentially wise. Our Big rotation would be insane if healthy.

Its going to be a fun summer because of the draft, FA, and Decision part 2.

My perfect off season would be
- Varejao gets roided up to stay healthy the whole year
- Kyrie adds some bulk and learns defense
- Bennette sheds some bulk and gets an NBA brain
- Tristan Thomposon's offensive game grows by leaps and bounds
- Karasev becomes a legitimate threat
- Dion becomes more consistent
- Spencer Hawes signs with us and improves to become our own Nowitzki light
- Our # 1 Draft pick pans out to to become a superstar
AND WE CAN CONTEND AND WIN WITHOUT ADDING ANY BIG NAME FAs.

how about a trade with milwaukee for a package around either ersan or henson for andy + fillers???

then flip jack, tt, or both for a sf or center depending on who we draft.

Team needs more veterans, so i think they'll resign andy despite his injury history. I hope they do whatever they can to get avery bradley. I hope hayward signs with us.

Irving/Delly
Bradley/Jack
Hayward/Miles
Bennett/Varejao
Embiid/Zeller

Ring.:chuckles:

If we can come out of this with one of Blatt/Vanterpool as coach, and a lineup of:

Irving - Dion - Carmelo/Lebron - Bennett - Embiid,

I'd be pretty stoked :) Imagine that offense? Wow.

more realistic....

pick embiid #1
re-sign deng to a reasonable deal
get rid of gee
let hawes walk
sign or trade for a veteran power forward. it would be great if mcroberts opted out of his contract and we were able to sign him
re-sign cj
possibly sign a backup small forward such as pj tucker or wesley johnson

pg: kyrie, JJ, delly
sg: dion, CJ, felix
sf: deng, tucker/johnson, karasev, would like to see bennett get some minutes at the 3 also
pf: TT, AB, veteran pickup
c: embiid, andy, zeller

that is one deep team with crazy potential
