Unless we're able to put a championship team around LeBron in the offseason, why would we want him to stay? I think we can separate our love for the Cavs from our appreciation of LeBron. He came back to Cleveland when he could have gone to a different situation. With our cap and perceived value of players we have, it still might be hard to get the type of team around LeBron that it takes to beat the Warriors. And unfortunately, as long as LeBron is here, Ty Lue is still here. Mentally, with LeBron as our star we always have championship goals so anything less is a complete disappointment. If anyone thinks the basketball we watched during the season was enjoyable, they are masochistic... And again, it's something that will continue if we keep Lue and LeBron stays. No player development, ect.
This offseason is unique because we have the opportunity of speeding up our rebuild. Love and a lottery pick is more than we had the last time LeBron left. And it's a chance to build correctly, get rid of Lue and copy the Toronto style build.
This isn't to say I prefer if LeBron leaves, but his legacy is as important to me as the Cavs team. I don't want this team to be the reason LeBron can't further it. It will just be another thing the media has to down talk the Cavs... Hell, LeBron might even get superstar calls on another team.
