To me, the lineup is pretty much set. Except at small forward. Who do you think will get the job? Make your case.
The contenders:
Cedi: Started many games over the last 2 seasons. But he's pretty much WYSIWYG. Doesn't make big mistakes, but doesn't provide much either.
Okoro: Strong, athletic player known for his defense. That's a quality that is desperately needed. But starting a rookie is not a good thing. I think Garland was hurt more than helped by starting when he wasn't ready.
Windler: I gotta admit. I'm rooting for this guy. Older rookie who hasn't played a game forever. More myth than player. Could be a young Kyle Korver.
KPJ: Nah

My rotation would be along these lines

PG - Sexton / Garland
SG - Windler / KPJ / Exum
SF - Okoro / Cedi / Dotson
PF - Love / Nance
C - Drummond / McGee

Nance can play PF/C in smaller lineups.

Tons of firepower on the bench with Garland/KPJ/Nance

I don't think Windler is going to be a great defender due to overall lack of strength and limited athleticism. I think pairing him with Okoro makes a lot of sense as Okoro should be able to guard the more physical of the opposing SG/SF.

I'm not on the "bring Sexton off the bench as a 6th man!' bandwagon. Sexton is our best guard. Period. He can score in bunches and his effort is fantastic. Let him get us going right out of the gates then let our bench continue that on.

Pretty decent lineup IMO.

Hopefully it's Okoro sooner than later. This will not happen but I think would be the ideal rotation for the current roster:

Drummond/McGee
Nance/Love*/Wade
Okoro/Windler/Cedi
KPJ/Dotson/Exum
Sexton/Garland/Delly

*I'd be shocked if they didn't start Love but this is the best fit for our team. If he's going to be taking games off esp back to backs I think this is better for continuity esp since Nance is a good fit next to Drummond.

Are you going to have him start over David Bertrans for the Wizards?

He will have to come off the bench I guess. Not the greatest fit with Wall as well.

But seriously for the Cavs i'm starting Okoro. Hopefully he looks good.

Is John Wall finally healthy? If not, could they go crazy big and start Beal, Avdija, Bertrans, Hachimura, and Lopez?

It will be interesting to see how things shake out in a shorten camp to see if Okoro gets the nod or not. I would like to see Garland not handed the PG position and go Sexton Porter JR. Okoro Love Drummond. If Garland does earn it then I think it Okoro has to start, unless JB has magically found the way to make SexLand work defensively.

Bickerstaff will have to tinker with the lineups for the first 15-20 games, at least.

I'd prefer a starting unit of Sexton-Windler-Cedi-Love-Drummond, with Okoro replacing Cedi eventually. Hopefully, we won't see the Sexton-Garland backcourt again.

With the shortened regular season and probably more back-to-back games, one or more starter will be rested periodically. The bench players, and even end-of-rotation players like Dotson, Delly, Exum, and Wade will get fair bit of minutes. So I wouldn't rush Okoro into the starting five. Let him soak up some bench minutes first.

This team can surprise a few middle-of-the-road teams. But then, the 2021 draft is solid :conf (11):

I believe John is healthy and will start.

Lineup could be Wall,Beal,Bertans(he is 4 to me, but they paid starter money for him), Rui, Bryant.

Could also see Wall,Beal,Avdija,Bertans,Bryant or Bertans as a 6th man gunner off the bench.

Cedi needs to start. Okoro can learn the ropes against the second units. Cedi has been working hard over the summer so I expect him to be slightly better around the rim and from three

He did work harder over the summer and hopefully improved, but I think his best fit is off the bench.

I could see a scenario where Nance starts at small forward, just to allow Drummond, Love, and Nance to all start. And early in the 1st quarter, Love or Drummond go to the bench and Nance shifts down to PF.

I agree, but its not about his best fit. I guess i'm talking about opening day lineups, maybe others are thinking over the whole season
