Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hurt or not hurt, he continues to make terrible decisions. Was really hoping he'd put it all together, but its been tough to watch him play.

Always lurking, but you guys are awesome!

Yep. The truth. Basic said in his exit interview that he would not get outside help and that he could do it on his own. Baker is a joke. No improvements in three years.

Zach Wilson from BYU drive hours to California to train with John Beck for a few hours a day for two days and drive back home.

Baker thought he made it after his rookie season.

The offensive line was a big problem today but he just won’t have a future in this league if he can’t make better decisions with the football. The more we lean on him, the more he’s been incapable of it. Those interceptions were inexcusable and a couple sacks could have been avoided if he just threw the damn ball to the sidelines.

Mayfield probably shouldn't have played today since everyone is hurt but I guess that doesn't matter to people nor the media.

Keenum starting would've created a lot of other problems, even though he would've looked quite a bit worse if PIT focused on preparing for him instead of Baker.

The way it worked out, Baker is in a position to bounce back against Cincy and people will barely remember this week.

And yes, the team probably wanted to keep the QB jersey length stuck at 30, even though it shouldn't really be a factor right now any more than the Steelers having games with Landy Jones, Mason Rudolph, Charlie Batch, etc. starting.

It’s so wild how people keep making excuses for Baker when all of the arrogant shit he has talked has been flung right back in his face. This is a guy who talked big shit about improving in the offseason and dismissing help. He talks shit about playing hurt and then goes out and looks weak as fuck. He talks shit about other QB’s only for him to go out and look worse.

He’s done nothing but put his foot in his mouth since he’s been here. Forget all of that underdog shit. Go out there and do your job dude.

A good number of Baker’s problems today were vision and decision making more than physical.

He’s still a very physically limited QB. On one play he scrambled away from the pass rush and ran a bootleg pattern and the play still resulted in a sack. He looks slow, short, and he lacks awareness in the pocket.

Both picks were awful for sure, but he was 10/18 and had a clean pocket on maybe 5 total throws and playing with bruised ribs.

We had no running attack, our offensive line got DOMINATED, and we want to put this on Baker? Prime Tom Brady would not have won this game, it was bad, very bad, but Baker was on the third or fourth reason we lost....number one was our O-line and number 2 was our d-line getting dominated. This was what was winning us games and both our lines played like shit...especially the O-Line.

To be fair, Baker hasn’t been doing any of that shit talking to anyone this year. I remember reading that’s one of the things Stefanski put an end to pretty quickly in their meetings.

@Rager

Are you going to contribute or just laugh at everyone post? Shit weird as fuck.

He talked shit all week about his injury not being a factor. He’s still talking shit about it. Putting his foot in his mouth again.

Don’t tease me with Wilson’s Morman ass.

That’s just nitpicking. This is what a quarterback is supposed to say! I have zero issue with him saying this at all. You never hear a QB say they’re limited by injury unless they actually physically cannot play, and that is not the case here.

Baker is going out of his way to not use his injury as an excuse for his shit play, and that’s good.

Hate him if you want, but how the Fuck is not using the injury as an excuse puting his foot in his mouth. He was asked a question and he answered, do you know how interviews work?
