long list of players who have turned their jumpers into passable. even beyond this one. Now, turning into sniper level is a different story.
I have hope that they can develop his shot after what they have helped Cedi accomplish this season. He might have been out of the league after this contract if he couldn't figure out his shot and now he's one of the best shooters on the team.

yeah, Osman w/o a shot offers little else. Especially when he thinks he's a playmaking point forward. Set feet, clean look though, and he's looking really good.

There is a ton of pressure to develop this kid, and quickly, into a passable NBA starter. Too high of a pick to be a rotational piece.

He is still a pup Jaylen brown stats at his age were about the same Collin Darius and Okoro are under the age of 25 you can not really grade them till they are at least 25 just enjoy the ride .

No you definitely aren't waiting to judge a player that late into their careers.

A contract has already come and gone by that point.

Wrong. Brown's stats were FAR better.

At 20 years old, Brown was a rookie rather than a second year player, and instead of shooting 35% from the field and 19% from 3 like Okoro is doing this season, he shot over 45% from the field and 34% from 3. He also averaged 6.6 ppg in just 17.2 minutes whereas Okoro is getting 7.5 in 30 minutes.

Their stats aren't even close. And Okoro has a year extra under his belt.

For all his struggles his on/off numbers surprisingly still hold up. That suggests he’s still positively impacting the game in some way, shape or form when on the court.

He’s raw. I think he’s a bit in his head right now also. But he plays hard. He defends well. Today was the first day he really was testing his hops with that hamstring. I think as we get further into the season, and the game slows down, he will improve offensively. The key is what is he going to do in the next two offseason. Right now he’s an energy guy, offensive garbage man, which isn’t the greatest thing to hear about your 2 guard….but the Thunder competed for years with Andre Roberson and his defense became so elite they had to have a spot for him.

The key is making sure he isn’t a complete bust. It’s one thing for your #5 pick to not be an all star, but if he is a guy who you can play when you’re trying to win games and hes contributing…that’s at least keeping some value.

We will have to be patient with Okoro to really reap any potential rewards. Let’s see where he ends up by the end of the year in shooting %, let’s see if he can find spots to contribute and help us win. He can take steps forward even if they aren’t leaps.

The thing is he'll end up being ok this season just because of the talent the Cavs have added and what is expected.

The Cavs are gonna be better than expected thus Okoro won't be under a microscope.

But if we had picked like 6th and hadn't made the off-season moves we did, the word bust would be getting thrown around a lot more by the media based on how he's playing currently.

As it is, he's gonna get this season with almost no pressure to figure it out. We'll see if he takes advantage of it.

Right now he is Okorough... Hopefully, a diamond on the rough, but he has long ways to go... Definitely an nba player, we just don't know whether he is a starting caliber or just an energy guy off the bench...

Mavs game was a template for him. Attack, look for the pass to the wing.

I think the game is too fast for him still. He is raw. Needs lots of reps. This is his chance

Small sample size, but over the last 4 games Okoro is shooting 37.5% from 3 on 4 attempts per game. Starting to show signs of life getting his offense moving in the right direction.

Attacking early in games and then using that to set up kick outs of off slashes (did that a few times to feed Lauri an open look at 3 last night) or get himself going where the confidence is there to can an open look 3 at a decent clip.

Go the Cedi route with him, have him develop and expand his game within a set role.

Yep. Patience. I hope Dan doesn’t get greedy and tries to jump the process.
Give this team time. No one knows the ceiling yet.

Just giving the team a simple 10 points is such a huge difference in his game impact.
the 5th guy role is a good role for him right now. Also the role that was needed to be filled earlier to keep the ball moving.

Drive and kick is a really good role for him. He needs to be that guy with Sexton out. I wish he had tried Luka's drive defense a couple more times. He never forces it, which means he is looking for perfect opportunities which are pretty rare.
