Wine and Gold Scrimmage | Cavaliers @ Cavaliers | October 5th, 2015 | 7:00pm EDT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
DJ Stephens :slamdunk:

Jumper looks much better than I remember when he was at Memphis too

to start the season we could go

mo>cook>delly
JR>delly>harris
bron>rich jeff
TT>andy
moz>sasha

The scrimmage seemed so short. Mostly impressed with Cook and Kaun. RJ looked pretty solid too and Mo of course. Kaun looked better than Moz honestly this game. Moz was hitting the mid range pretty consistently though.

Assuming TT signs back, I think another back up wing is our biggest need while Shump is down. Mostly because I don't entirely trust Joe and RJ to log big minutes but maybe I'm wrong. It is possible they will do fine enough. I wouldn't mind Austin Daye. He could even play some stretch 4.

Quinn Cook was the best player though. If we planned on giving him minutes, I'd sign him. I don't think it is a good idea to play Mo 30+ minutes a night anyway while Kyrie is down because he said he was overplayed in Charlotte. If we can give Cook 10 minutes a night, I'd sign him.

I would be Leaning heavily towards cook. I think the teams likes what they have in joe Harris and delly is better suited with another ball handler next to him on the floor. Delly still has problems bringing the ball up with pressure as cook picked him. Instead of turning his back for a few dribbles and then switching hands; I would like to see delly dribble hard and make the defender turn and run with him( sliding your feet is impossible to keep up with a full head of steam) once that happens the defender can be put on skates with a behind the back Dribble crossover. Kyrie is the master of this and this is something I saw cook use in summer league.

Anyway, I think another ball handler in the back court would be better served than anything else I have seen from the camp guys.

Let's not overreact from an intrasquad scrimmage guys.

Less useful than a D-League game.

The opinion on cook is mostly watching tape in summer league and his stats from college. The handle and the jumpshot definitely there (especially the jump shot) he can also pass the ball a bit. The defense is the huge question mark though. That is something that is much harder to extrapolate from his work in the summer. If he can defend at an average level, he has a spot in the NBA because his jump shot is very good and he has enough handle for backup point duties. He isn't very tall and his athleticism is pretty average.

Cook looked the best to me. I was thinking you might want Day to spell Lebron, but is he even a sf? He sorta doesn't have a position in a bad way.

I Liked DJ too. I think they have to take one of these guys. Might be tradeable later with the early playing time this year considering how many guards are out.

Bring back Keith Bogans.

I love how online and media friendly this organization is. A lot of teams wouldn't bother streaming a scrimmage, let alone archiving the whole thing for those that missed it live. I wanted to see some stuff from the newer faces, I got that. Pretty entertaining, I am excited for the preseason just to see this team play.

Dunigan's number is 31 according to the roster card from the scrimmage.

He may not have a number on the camp roster yet as he doesn't seem to be playing yet (only player not to play other than Shump, Kyrie, and Love).

Cook looked impressive.
