If he ends up on team that loves to push it in transition then that will translate but the Cavs don't like to push it. I'm not sure there are many NBA teams that like to push in transition like college teams like to. More half court offense with longer defenders may really reduce how his ball handling and playmaking looks in the NBA.

Im not saying I think Sochan will be a bust or doesn't have a role in the NBA but I think he isn't a fit for the Cavs. I think if he gets to the right team he could thrive but I really don't think that team is the Cavs.

Alot of the current Sochan talk in this thread was people asking why he wouldn't work for the Cavs. That's basically what I was addressing.

I think the Cavs need a better playmaker or 3pt shooter than Sochan could offer. His defensive versatility is a great trait but I'm not sure it would be maximized with our roster.

I was hoping Griffin would be off the board and another prospect would slide down to the Cavs. Personally want to see them draft Eason or Williams at 14 (assuming Dieng and Daniels go top 10). At the very least just trade down for Terry or Beachamp and add another pick if 'their guy' is off the board. I'm pretty wary of Griffin's knee injuries. They were supposedly just "sprains" but that could likely mean tears. To my untrained eye he just didn't look as athletic last season as he did during AAU. Maybe it's just a weight gain thing but his loss of athleticism has to be at least a little concerning.

He recovered from a dislocated left knee in January of 2020. The sprain last season was a minor one in his right. Just out for accuracy at this point.
