If that ever happened to me I'd kill the spotter..the only time I ever dropped the bar was when I was maxing out last week doing military presses and I had a bad grip and just threw it down in front of me.

horrible way to lift weights....thats the dudes fault.
 
He lifted the bar with all 5 fingers wrapped around the bar..I can't lift like that.

I extend my thumb underneath the bar extending inward to stabilize it so it doesn't roll like that..eesh
 
I was always taught to lift with power with straight arms.

He is essentially lifting with his wrists and making it harder on himself really..
 
He just lost his grip, that's not the spotter's fault. What is that, 275 lbs? He probably broke some ribs, if not his collar bones or collapsed a lung or something. Can you say ouch?

What the hell was he thinking not wrapping his thumbs around? You don't do that on push excersizes. There is some benefit to doing it on pull excersizes, but not push.
 
thats not 275 thats 295. doulbe 45's is 225, two 35's is 70.

Ive been working out since the end of may. Put on 20 pounds of weight and increase bench from roughly 155 to 225, thats without woking out 3 weeks for vacation.

So now I weigh a wooping 173, :chuckles: , so buff.

I wasn't sure if they were 25s or 35s. They looked too big to be 25s, but most gyms don't even have 35s.

That's pretty much exactly how I measure: 173lbs and 225 bench. Although 225 is my max, I presume that's what you meant. If I remember correctly though you're taller than me. I'm 6'.
 
Yeah Im 6'3" but whatever muscles I have, I got a little bit now, is all upper body. I worked my legs one day during that time spand.
 
I have no legs either, yet they're relatively strong. I've never tried to max on squats, but I can get 5 reps of 315. Yet my legs are thin.
