WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know Tony Khan is only 38 but when you listen to him, you can tell he has an excellent understanding of professional wrestling, from both a business and perhaps more importantly, a fandom standpoint.

TK certainly had the money to fail for awhile on the business side but if it wasn't for his fandom, not sure AEW would've been able to take off the way it did. He had a great feel for who he needed to bring in from a talent standpoint to appeal to a new mass.

This is a good listen on Le Batard's podcast and gives a lot of insight into his psyche and method as a promotion owner.

Finally getting around to watching NXT 36. That Walter/Dragunov match was fantastic. Couldn't help but root for Dragunov because he took an absolute beating.

If you never saw their first match it is equally entertaining.

AEW's women's wrestling sucks, and having QT vs Paul Wight was embarrassing. But literally the rest of the show was perfect

And The E really lost Adam Cole and Bryan in the same night. That's ROUGH.

It's clear the WWE doesn't value in-ring performance as much as appearance. These moves are not some mistake, this is the natural decision-making process of Vince. They want more Cena, less Punk.

Those two matches mentioned were like bad bad. Wouldn't say the ppv itself was an all-timer but the moments within it & industry ramifications are.

I still don't love the Bucks or Omega, but the overall talent is incredible in AEW. Lots of guys that don't need the title to be relevant. Plenty of crossover opportunities with other promotions. Kahn has the money and network to really take away market share from WWE. They just have to keep the momentum rolling.

Overall, I like the Bucks, but that match against the Lucha Bros is why many don’t. Just a total spot fest that did absolutely nothing for me.
Bingo. There are plenty of double team moves that would fit their style & be more effective (story telling) than to just turn it into a spot fest.

I know the Bucks have a lot of teams that inspire them but id urge them to go back and watch a lot of Rockers matches. Two smaller guys for the time with a ton of double team moves.

Very Indie wrestling. It's why I'm excited to see guys who have E experience to AEW. Mix those incredible spots in at the right time and tell an amazing story.

Honestly, my favorite talent right now is goddamn Miro. I never thought I'd say that, but he and Kingston has been amazing and Miro is getting so good. I don't know how you ever let him lose the title at this point.

I love Omega, but I can see why some don't. I do wish he would take his time and maybe do a little less V-Triggers. Those moves are so sick if you protect them.

Miro should have had a prominent role in WWE as a main event heel. When he came out in a tank I had so much hope for him to beat Cena. Shame on me.

While I haven't seen enough of Omega, everytime I've heard him talk he says something that makes me say "ok dude you're not cool".

The stuff he's doing now in AEW is like...Brock Lesnar levels of Final Boss stuff. He's talking about killing people and then having sex with his beautiful wife. It's incredible. Then he follows it up looking like an actually killer in the ring.
