WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
While I haven't seen enough of Omega, everytime I've heard him talk he says something that makes me say "ok dude you're not cool".
Isn’t that the point of a heel?

He remind me a lot of Evolution era HHH in terms of his personality

Yes an no. I get what you're saying but he's over the rope cringe worthy. Like last night quoting Steve Urkel.

Give me coward or viscous heel over dorky heel all day.

He’s more douchey than dorky, which is what he’s going for.

You’re supposed to hear him say shit like that and think “what a jackass”

If he was actually funny/cool, he wouldn’t be doing his job.

That's a fair point.

Very Indie wrestling. It's why I'm excited to see guys who have E experience to AEW. Mix those incredible spots in at the right time and tell an amazing story.

Honestly, my favorite talent right now is goddamn Miro. I never thought I'd say that, but he and Kingston has been amazing and Miro is getting so good. I don't know how you ever let him lose the title at this point.

I love Omega, but I can see why some don't. I do wish he would take his time and maybe do a little less V-Triggers. Those moves are so sick if you protect them.
AEW as whole does a better job protecting their moves, but agreed. Omega is almost close to 5 moves of doom level. But I love his character

For as indie wrestling AEW leans at times, the Punk/Allen, MJF/Jericho, and Omega/Cage were dripping in peak 90s era ring psychology. Just excellently constructed matches. Those guys are phenomenal in-ring storytellers.

Just an absolute banger of a PPV from top to bottom aside for the weirdly placed Paul Wight match.

Jericho getting the win over MJF didn’t make a ton of sense to me, but it didn’t ruin anything for me either

You never wanted to watch Jericho wrestle in AEW again? Wasn't that the stipulation? Makes sense he won for that alone, we need his entertainment.

I love the little touches that set AEW apart from the WWE product, like actually focusing on the records of the performers and giving little data points like average match length and recent winning streaks.

It makes it, you know, seem like we're watching an actual competition, which is kind of the point of professional wrestling.

I'll also note that I don't mind the spot-fest Bucks/Lucha match because it followed three matches that told stories and was a nice change of pace with the non-stop action / car crash feel of it. WWF was always at its best when it was a mix of good wrestling with psychology and crazy bullshit.

Prichard’s pitch to Adam Cole was to be a heel manager on SmackDown, says Ringside News.

WWE officials were not surprised by Cole’s appearances at All Out and had nothing but good things to say about the way he handled his departure, reports Fightful Select. Ringside News adds they were told no one in power at WWE views Bryan Danielson or Cole “as a big loss”.

Thought experiment: Who the fuck is Adam Cole gonna manage on Smackdown? Baron Corbin??

This company just puts out slop week in and week out. They clearly don't need Bryan or Cole when the quality of the product doesn't matter.

I'm not trying to say AEW is some great product either. It's just amazing to me how low the bar has been set by the biggest organization in wrestling.

Anyone else going to Cincy tomorrow for Dynamite? I just realized Rampage is taped this week so looks like Andrade V. PAC is going down tomorrow too. Beyond stoked.

Imagine having the gall to ask Adam Cole, one of the best wrestlers in the world right now in his early thirties, to be a fucking manager.
