WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Rock vs Reigns should have nothing to do with the title if it happens. Would be a huge mistake resulting in an anticlimactic Wrestlemania and a boring build.

Ehhhh.

I get what you're saying, but if Rock/Roman is not for the title then that means you're having Roman eat a pin for the first time in basically 3 years right before the match.

Right or wrong, I don't think they want to do that before Wrestlemania.

May be in the minority, but, I have zero desire to see Roman vs Rock.
I’d rather see Roman have two matches, one each night, drop both belts.
Sami and Cody taking the titles and starting their own feuds on individual shows.
My only concern with Sami is, what happens after the bloodline turn? Can he keep momentum and be “the guy” by himself??

I don’t see Roman dropping both titles. They’re building to be one of the best champions literally ever.

That’d be massive for him to lose both.

Zelina Vegas girls was girlin in that top werent they, my goodness.
Had trouble breathing during that promo. Had to make sure wife wasn’t lookin at me

By the time Mania rolls around, Roman will have held both titles hostage for more than a year.

The whole point of a long heel title run is to have an enormous feel good moment when they finally get the title off the heel.

You can only delay that gratification so long before it becomes a miserable slog.

Roman should have no titles coming out of WrestleMania. This needs to be the final build to the climatic moment of this reign.

I agree with you.

Which is why he doesn't need to work Rock, because he's definitely going over :chuckle:

Or have him lose to Owens at the Rumble.

It would certainly benefit WWE to have some of their other events feel important again.

Cody was reaching a certain status before injury derailed his run.

Curious how WWE juggles that reset, plus bringing Rock into the fold for Rumble through Mania. If Roman wins the Elimination Chamber, then he's facing Rock at 'Mania which most likely means Rock enters the Rumble at #29 or #30 and tacks on another legendary moment.

If Roman happens to lose at EC, the main event at WM will still be Roman/Rock/Bloodline story telling that'll we'd all be invested in.

I think they continue booking Roman as the ultimate heel, and Rock putting him over as is. Just like Heyman always introduced Brock as the 1 in 21-1 or whatever regarding the Undertaker's streak, he'll find another cliche for Roman regarding beating Rock.

Ultimately, Cody should be the guy that dethrones Roman in a singles match and overcomes the bloodline interference to give us that feel good moment and start the American Dream's/Nightmare journey about how he did it for Dusty.

I like this thinking and have felt the same. Not necessarily who he loses it to beforehand but should happen before WM.

Roman vs. Rock doesn't need the belt to still be a huge deal. Makes no sense for that to be a title match when everyone knows Rock won't agree to more than a one-off in the first place. The outcome would feel obvious.

This gives you two easy main events for both nights featuring the championship on the alternate. Makes too much sense.

I really want a sadistic punting Orton legend killer return vs The American Nightmare story for the strap.

Ricky Starks is going to have a hellish time distancing himself from the Rock especially since it’s so known Rocky is his inspiration.

That promo was very Rock-like but i would love to see him given a variety of storylines to show his range. A lot of ppl don’t like Ricky’s booking in AEW but imo he’s already had a great variety of storylines to work with and he’s done well with each one. Seeing this MJF promo i kinda wish they’d give those 2 a couple month long program.

This also shines a light on MJF. Ricky is over without MJF but you don’t get THAT reaction unless you are going toe to toe with another STAR.

AEWs biggest issue imo is their stars aren’t on the show every week, doing star shit. We see this promo from Ricky and now watch, he’s gonna lose that match next WED and AEW won’t have another feud lined up for him for months and he’s gonna lose all this momentum. This is the issue with Tony Khan putting belts on guys because he likes them and not because he thinks they are actual draws.

I love me some bastard PAC but that belt is a prop. I love me some Samoa Joe, but that belt is a prop. Get these big stars with these belts in interesting feuds. I’ll take a great matchup any day of the week but stories is what gets ppl watching. Ricky Starks isn’t over right now because he’s got the best spear in the game. He’s over because he’s a loudmouth throwback to what wrestling was. AEW probably needs writers and boomers not just bookers. I feel as if ANY experienced Booker would’ve known to do more with Starks VS MJF. Now to Tony’s credit maybe this thing between MJF and Ricky will be a multi match thing but i don’t really have much trust in Khan as a booker right now.

Sasha Banks is working Wrestle Kingdom in January, pretty big sign she isn’t going back to WWE
