WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Few opinions:
1) Brood song "still slaps"
2) Attractions like Punk do not need a title
3) Bryan will be at the NY show
4) Vince is prepping the company to sell. He's checked out.

For AEW, they have 2 shows during the week? What's their tour like? Is everything Live?

I dont believe they’re doing house shows currently. They have Dynamite (Wed.) and Rampage (Fri.) live and then have two shows they air on YouTube (Dark and Dark: Elevation) and tape those before their live shows

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Becky coming back? Did they do Belair dirty or do you think it builds into a great story??
I think it was brilliant and doesn’t make her look weak at all.

Bianca shouldn't have lost the belt on those terms. A squash match just kills Bianca's credibility as a champion. Same deal with Kofi and he still really hasn't recovered from that Brock match.

So the roster works 2 days a week? Don't get over exposed? Can work elsewhere? Sell your own merchandise? Monetize yourself on streaming platforms and elsewhere?

Why would a wrestler not want to work for them?

I think that's why you see talent flock to them.

I do expect, once they get bigger, they will not allow as much cross pollination with other companies (I'd be stunned if they keep showing up on Impact much longer) but house shows are useless and don't have a place in the sport anymore.

Walter v. Dragunov 2 was excellent. Sucks NXT appears to be changing to a developmental brand again for hosses. Lots of talent (including these two) are going to be put in a tough spot. Will be interesting to see the direction they head over the next few months.

Pretty sure Cole is AEW bound at this point but curious what will happen with the other "midget" mainstays who've worked some of NXT's best matches (Gargano, Ciampa, Dunne, O'Reilly, Kushida, etc.)

Cole is definitely AEW, he does not like WWE creative at all considering he turned down a contract. The Youngbucks teased him to. Cole is free to appear at anytime due to him not having a clause.

I really hope Austin Creed, Cesaro, Tyler Breeze and Adam Cole go to AEW. I want their video game stuff to continue and they work so well together. WWE's horrid creative, no health insurance, forcing them to abide by every shit rule in the book and not allowing them to make money outside of the WWE is just horrible. AEW is a legitimate threat yet Vince is unwilling to change. Fuck the guy, I hope WWE fails.

Yeah that was.. head scratching. I was advertised Sasha V Bianca and that's what I wanted. It's cool having Becky back. But have her return after the match and challenge Bianca. What the hell happened with Sasha?

She wasn't cleared to wrestle

I heard she was a close contact to Covid and out for 10 days.
Not sure when the 10 started, but it’s hard to tell what rules they have as no one knows which way is up or down in regards to this damn virus.

Bray Wyatt’s release was the final straw for me. WWE has consistently failed creating entertaining characters and leaned on nostalgia as a crutch and quick fix to pimp out their product ahead of network contracts. Then they have an incredible one of a kind character in Bray Wyatt created by the talent and they let that go.

What is there on WWE programming that has even a modicum of compelling television? Edge/Rollins? Cena/Reigns? Lashley isn’t interesting. I’m tired of Goldberg coming in and taking high profile matches. He isn’t interesting either. The Fiend was the hottest thing going and like Punk 10 years ago they wasted it.

This huge CM Punk mark is taking his interest to AEW where it belongs.
WWE also released Bray's brother Bo Dallas, and his father Mike Rotunda aka IRS, last year, who was a producer since 2008.

Ditching the whole family seems like a not great move by WWE.

Mike Rotunda had a great run as a wrestler, but his greatest accomplishment was probably raising a pair of even better wrestlers.
