WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not sure with Danielson, Punk and Cole all clearly bigger stars that you can still put the belt on Page and get the same reaction and pay off the storyline in the same way.

I think that ship might have sailed.
I’m not sure Danielson or Punk should ever win a title match.

Use them in non-title feuds to give other guys the rub, and the occasional title match to make champions gain more legitimacy.

Agreed. They do not need a title to be a big draw. Think HBK 2.0, Hogan 3.0, Lesnar, etc. Maybe have them win a quick one and lose due to some BS like a fake injury, but they should only be used to add legitimacy.

If I had to guess, Punk & Bryan will spend the next year dancing around one another and eventually have a main event match at whatever the AEW wrestlemania is.

I mean, they could, but that's some WCW shit there.

Page was/is their biggest homegrown baby face star. He better get the title.

I hear you, but AEW is ultimately in the business of making money above all else.

And right or wrong, fair or unfair, more fans will pay to see Danielson or Punk in the top spot/biggest storyline/main event more than they'll pay to see Adam Page in the same spot.

I think BD being a champ is a no-brainer at some point especially with this "no, i'm the best" angle he's premiered with.

Punk has enough natural charisma to make any feud feel personal and sell tickets, IMO. It's just all about how his rivals are packaged but I don't think he needs the belt, certainly not anytime soon. I will admit though, seeing a "making up for lost time" CM Punk heel turn where he is angry and bitter on a championship run would be awesome.

TK is all about long term storytelling paying fans off the most - he's a study of the old school booking style and AEW is all the better for it. It's entirely plausible to see them both as champs at some point assuming AEW is gonna be around for awhile.

I think they could possibly have it both ways. Giving Page feuds with Miro, Punk, and Malakai then maybe have Bryan or heel Cody Rhodes take the title off him eventually.

THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE A STAR

Good god, Page is on fire

Hopefully they have him take the title off Omega.

Omega moves onto Danielson.

Page moves onto a few random heel challengers before eventually running into MJF.
I'm excited for the potential feuds like one with MJF.

They have been careful building a few heels that I think will some career defining matches/feuds with Hangman. Miro, Black, and Andrade, maybe heel Cody, and hopefully MJF is the next man up

Cody recently claimed in an interview that he’ll never turn heel. Not saying I believe him, but interesting nonetheless.

Thought this was just a one-off. Now hoping KOR is on his way. Seems inevitable at this point.

Don't buy it. Have you seen the show The Boys on Amazon prime? I think Cody is trying to go for a Homelander like gimmick.

Trying to portray himself as a perfect hero when in reality he lacks the awareness that he isn't everyone's hero and that his actions more align with a villain.

I wouldn't be surprised if he beats the shit out of Arn and Lee Johnson at Full Gear
