WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've long thought they could get some real mileage out of a story where someone takes over the company and checks Vince into a home, and then every week you get a few skits of him interacting with other people and not understanding how the real world works, with occasional wrestler legend guest stars.
Getting a little too close to the fourth wall with that one. :chuckle:

How concerned should we be that there isn’t enough room or screen time for all of the guys AEW will almost inevitably sign?

Coolest thing about WWE right now is the Steiner that doesn't have the name "Steiner", and how he did the Big Poppa Pump flex.

Edge vs Miz, what a dumbass match.

Should be Edge and Jeff Hardy peeling off old bandages and creating another moment. Those potential promo cuts will captivate the past and present.

Farmer Lesnar is always cool though, but we know he's part time.

The product just stinks.

Concerned. I think Tony Khan is going to either have to change his long term booking philosophy or they're going to need to add another hour of TV time.

What’s the consensus on Dan Lambert in AEW? Personally, I’ve been a big fan of his heel work on the mic, but when I googled him, the results were mostly negative.

Not at all a fan.

He's been mostly the same dude in every promo. It was fine when it started but it's getting mostly stale for me, IMO.

I like it because it helps with keeping talent fresh and healthy, so I'm ok with it from a wrestling perspective.

From a storyline perspective, it's a little much, although if it means more big groups, I'm super down. I like big Factions and some of the stuff is really cool. Unfortunately I think they aren't giving enough time to younger guys either.

And let's not even talk about them having a hell of a woman's division and not using it.

Dan Lambert has worn on me too. My main criticism is that you really don't need a mouthpiece for guy like Ethan Page. It was fine when Dan's adversary was Jericho but now he's going after Tony Khan? Just feels a bit forced but obviously this is a cross-marketing angle to bring in MMA casuals.

KOR debuts and Sammy's underwhelming TNT title run ends. Nice presents under the tree.

Moxley goes to rehab and comes back looking like prime Dean Ambrose. Love to see it.

Don't forget Switchblade

Way more of a shock. I think everyone and their dog expected it to be Lee because the rest of the options were all let go like months ago. Jeff would have been the only other possible option but I'm sure he has a longer non-compete.

It sounds like Jeff has another 30 days on his. Not sure if you watched last night but Matt basically left during Private Party's match and jumped the barricade into the fans - felt like an obvious nod to Jeff since he left WWE the same way.

I think a Hardy Boyz run in AEW is inevitable.

Ah, fair enough.

Matt started that was in AEW didn't he though? With that incredibly stupid Broken Matt promo in the stands teleporting from on spot to the next? I thought that's what it was hinting at.

He just looked frustrated and left. Didn't think much of it but then I saw this tweet...

Basically the same language WWE used when they released Jeff.
