WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Shayna should have won the rumble. She looked really, really good and has a compelling reason to go after Becky.

The men's rumbled delivered. Didn't enjoy Brock burying Kofi, Morrison, Nakamura, MVP, and Rowan.

I just don't understand Nakamura winning last year if they didn't plan for him to win the title or even let AJ and him steal the show. Drew could've have won and gone after AJ.

Oh well, I dig Drew as a babyface and really want him to beat Lesnar.

Still holding out hope for a Keith Lee debut. Have him go after Bray.

Fantasy WM card
Mcintyre v. Lesnar
Lee v. Wyatt
Lynch v. Shayna
Bayley v. Banks v. Flair
Andrade v. Mysterio (Hair v. Mask)
Edge v. Orton
Black/Ricochet v. Rollins/Murphy v. Owens/Joe

preshow:
dumb battle royals (AJ Styles wins)
Phoenix/ Natalya v. Kabuki
Braun v. Sami Zayn
New Day v. Miz/Morrison

Sami is still just managing, recovering from some injuries.

I'm hoping once he's good to go, they do something better than feeding him to Strowman for the 100th time. The guy is over when they let him be, and he's a great in-ring storyteller. I'd love to see Nakamura vs Zayn at some point.

Heard AJ got hurt, and that's why he was so unceremoniously dumped out of the match last night. Left-arm, I think. Hopefully, it's nothing serious.

We're still going to get Reigns vs The Fiend though. Keith Lee is the North American Champion, so he'll be one of the TakeOver headliners that weekend.

Banks has an injured ankle, hasn't wrestled in 3 weeks, fyi. I think I also saw Io got hurt badly at World's Collide as well. I'm sure the Santina stuff was just to fill a spot. And to be honest, there was already so much "filler" women, I didn't feel like it took someone's spot.

I thought the men's rumble was the best in a very long time. Only person who I felt got a raw deal was Morrison. Them embracing the Minnesota Stretching Crew was really cool. Keith Lee looked like a beast and Drew got a mega rub. Whoever booked that Rumble did a fantastic job.

There were plenty of women left off that could have had that Santino spot.
But the men's match was greatly booked. I didn't get the feeling Brock buried anyone.

I did, but I also hate the way Brock has been booked. They need to close the gap between him and the rest of the roster.

Seeing him dispatch some of those guys so quickly bothered me. Our IC champion lasts 20 seconds?

What harm is there in allowing a few guys to get some rub from getting in at least a minute of offense?

A few guys did and I agree they need to close that gap. That's a valid point. But I also like the Special feeling champs like Brock and The Fiend. Not on tv for 30 minutes a week. Makes it feel like a big deal when they show up

You see, I feel the opposite. I canceled my network subscription when Lesnar returned at MITB. He does nothing for me.

Hope the paycheck was worth it to Morrison, because he got treated like a straight up joke last night just a few weeks after returning.

Just like almost everyone else that faced Brock. The first half of the men's rumble sucked ass. The post Lesnar half was really damn good. Loved seeing Edge out there.

I hated it as it was going on, but at the end it was all about building up McIntyre. I expect him to eat a few F5s at WM and keep fighting; with Brock shaking his hand at the end. The main event is their biggest problem; too many pretty good talents but few that really stand out. Hopefully this means we will see a wave of changes.

By the way, I swear this company is setting up Reigns to fail. He's supposed to be a good guy, yet they keep putting him in positions where the crowd is going to boo the hell out of him. Having him go up against fellow face McIntyre to end the Rumble was another in a series of baffling decisions (like having Reigns feud with Corbin, the most bland and boring wrestler in the entire world, for like six fucking months) related to Reigns. There was no way the crowd was going to do anything other than boo Reigns there.

They need to turn this fucker heel already, because they clearly have no idea how to book him as a face.

I was okay with Drew being pushed. It was apparent by how everything was set up for that rumble. I just absolutely hated the ridiculously overpowered script for Lesnar. I mean they had him dump both Lee and Strowman at the same time. Totally negating all the build up of both of those wrestlers on their regular appearances. You know, the shows that Brock is off vacationing from. I absolutely hate all this push for a part time performer.

Either one of those guys could have and probably would have thrown a gassed out Brock. But Strowman messed up that opp and went after Keith. Brock took advantage.

Only because they scripted it that way. There was no reason for them not to have gone after Brock first with all the carnage that was ongoing by his hands. t was a completely illogical scene. Basically like any movie that we criticize around here for bad scripting. The "Monster among men" was completely marginalized. Nauseating. Creative still needs a lot of work.

I love Sami, but he's extremely low on the roster compared to everyone else in the eyes of Vince. I think he gets stuck with being a manager/enhancement talent for the rest of his time there. It's dumb. Strowman and Zayn is an easy way to get the crowd involved, okay match for the preshow.

Reigns and Bray will be okay. Wish they could find someone to help carry the match because Reigns and Bray are better characters than they are wrestlers.

I feel like they missed an opportunity to have a feud with Lesnar and Lee. Have Lesnar to show up on NXT every once in a while to rock AEW's ratings.

I'm think I'm done with the fantasy booking for now :chuckle:
