WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I thought Money in the Bank was pretty meh. I thought the McIntyre vs. Rollins match was the highlight but thought the pre-taped mitb match was meh. You get Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, and Aleister Black in the same match and yet there's hardly any in-ring action to only end in a hokey joke?

I was able to acquaint myself with NXT during quarantine and the TakeOvers shit all over the WWE PPVs.

EVIL joined BizzClizz last night.

Fucking sucks. LIJ is the best stable in the World, really hate to see it.

AEW has been crushing NXT in their demo (18-49) pretty much the entire pandemic. I just started getting into AEW and I must admit, it does have a bit more of a nostalgic, attitude-era vibe than the WWE. It just feels more....I don't know how to explain it....a bit more real.

Jericho is still such a talent, both in-ring and on-the-mic. Love that Canuck.

Jericho is the goat.....of the 21st. He’s just good at everything.

AEW bump - they seem to have really hit their groove as of late. Full Gear was the first AEW PPV I purchased and I thought it was pretty great.

FTR vs. Young Bucks is definitely worth checking out.

I went to a small New Year's gathering last night at a friend's place who lives in my apartment complex. A guy there works for WWE on the production side and interacts with basically all the wrestlers, so I got the chance to ask him who is cool and who sucks.

Randy Orton was the first one who came to mind when I asked him who the biggest douche was. :chuckle:

Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Johnny Gargano are all as awesome as they appear to be in real life.

He also said that Harper was a great guy who everyone liked.

It's pretty well documented that Randy is a douche.

I am not a wrestling person, but this interview with John Cena is pretty incredible. Dude's just awesome, and certainly punched a hole straight through any biases I may have been holding onto.

Personality. The great ones have it and can channel it into something bigger. The Rock is another example of becoming bigger than wrestling. Always good to see these guys use their platform for the betterment of their fans.

Cena is one of those dudes that no matter what they are performing, they will keep you entertained. Seriously, when has anyone ever seen him do something and you didn’t enjoy it. Even when he started in the WWE with that terrible, Eminem wannabe persona, his rhymes were goofy yet hilarious at the same time. Sure part of it is his physique, which is both oddly muscular and also not text book proportional, but his personality is the biggest driving point. He’s not a great actor by any stretch, but he also isn’t a stiff. You can see how comfortable he’s become in front of the camera since he first started performing, especially in this clip.

I'll say, from this clip alone, he has developed some actual comedy chops.
