WWE/NXT/AEW/NJPW Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was hard Anti Cena for prolly 6 or 7 years. But eventually he just wears you down because he's an overall good dude. He's likeable and funny and as far as I know is still the record holder for Make a Wish. Hard not to grow to like the man because of the respect he has earned.

Cena and Guy Fieri have both won me over. They appear to be genuinely good people who make the world a better place.

I dont know much about Fieri's charitable work or anything besides his appearance which is douchey. But I'm glad to hear he's a good dude

I remember he raised a ton of money over the last year to help workers in the restaurant business.

Wow. Good for him. I didn't know that. I think dude from Bar Stool did something similar as well.

I definitely dismissed him at first because of his appearance and the fact that he's a terrible critic in his shows.

But, that's not his goal. Especially if you've watched anything lately--from Grocery Games with the whole Carlos Ruiz thing, to his backyard shows during the pandemic, it's clear the guy's an incredible human being who makes life better for those around him.

He's still not my favorite. I enjoy the people who convey more knowledge and critique. But he's impossible not to like if you give him a chance.

Also wouldn't be against Columbus renaming itself to Flavortown in his honor. Much better dude than Columbus ever was.

Got excited to see this thread active for once thinking people were talking about Walter v. Ciampa from last night only to see a discussion about John Cena.

Most people dislike Cena for his wrestling run where WWE shoved him down the throats of the fans for over a decade and he basically never put any young stars over. I don't necessarily blame him for that, but I'd argue he's one of the main reasons that wrestling's popularity went through a steady decline from the end of the Attitude Era to now. It was largely all Cena, all the time and they failed to make any new stars because Cena was always the impossible boss fight at the end that up and comers were doomed to lose to. So many quality young talents had their pushes derailed when they ran into the Cena buzzsaw and it was really frustrating to watch.

None of that has anything to do with Cena outside of wrestling, though.

That match was fantastic. I imagine both of those guys are feeling like shit today.

I haven't watched it yet, I'll check it out tonight. I'm not usually a fan of British style wrestling. But I'll find out later

Walter is fun because he just beats the shit out of people. And Ciampa is one of the best wrestlers in the world.

Naturally, it was a pretty good match.

Oh yeah I love Ciampa but the "Walter" style of chops and strikes and holds isn't someting that tickles my fancy. I like the Ciampa/Gargano styles they've had or the Bayley/Sasha style where if it is a strike fest it feels earned because of story but usually its not
