May 20, 2005 - Activision showed up to E3 this year with several high-profile games ready to roll in playable form, and many others appeared in clever movies or demos. But True Crime 2, strangely, appeared in both a brazenly loud fashion without ever really showing up at all.

Footage and screenshots of True Crime 2 were absent. Information on the game was completely missing. What we did see, however, was a big part of Activision's booth dedicated to the game. There were DJs, rappers, show girls, and one totally pimped out car, which is winnable in a contest, but as for actual content, you know, something palpable, Activision clearly had nothing.

We learned about two weeks ago that Luxoflux's sequel is going to be huge, so large that members from other teams are helping the developer to get the game done for this fall. And, it's clear True Crime 2 is going to be a huge game for Activision come this fall. we also know it's a current, not a next, generation game. But apparently, it's not ready to show just yet.

The True Crime 2005 taglines -- appearing all over the booth and on the Website -- read: "New Crime. New City. True Crime." The image on the Website shows an African-American detective with cornrows, with a detective badge hanging from his heck. In the background are names of cities, clearly indicating that we should guess which urban metropolis the game takes place in.

Expect to hear announcements in the upcoming month or so.
