I've been seeing that but this is where I wouldn't mind getting a veteran stopgap solution preferably someone who would work with the younger pitchers well.

Texas signed Kyle Gibson 3yrs, $28M. KC signed Mike Minor 2 yrs, $18M. This is the kind of pitcher I'd target. They certainly don't have electric stuff but they at least generally are reliable to keep the team in the ball game and eat up innings even if there's a little injury risk. And over the course of the season, plugging our gap with someone like this would net us probably more than just a few wins.

A trade for Kyle Gibson would, if the Indians are taking on his entire contract responsibility, raise the current payroll by nearly $ 4 MM..with another $ 7 1/2 MM for the 2022 season. This should be a reasonable means to an end: the acquisition of a stable veteran for the fourth spot in the starting rotation.... The question remains.. what wil the Rangers want in return & will Gibson be the only piece coming to the corner of carnegie and ontario..

I'm on board with Gson's idea of acquiring Kyle Gibson...never thought I'd ever look fondly on that guy, but I do now.

As for the many who are lusting after Ketel Marte, I'm sorry, his current DRS has me spooked--this is the bottom of the current rankings--and seeing Cesar there only confirms how lousy he's been in the field this year.
