You Be the Indians GM - 2020 Edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am not all that worried about Zimmer not doing anything in the off season in a sense of playing ball. Now he does need to keep his body in shape, but outside of that, give him some mental rest and I hope between the mental break and the season mostly off, it gets him mentally and physically ready for this upcoming season.

Perhaps Zimmer is skipping winter ball so he can focus on other aspects of his game with personal coaches. Whatever the reason, so long as he continues to work out & prepare work next season (in some manner) we should all be accepting of the choice.

It would be very interesting if Zimmer reported to Goodyear, AZ on say 1/12/20 ready to get rolling with Tribe coaches and staff.

Adding Dickerson as a FA and Villar in a trade could make this lineup pretty damn good in 2020.

C-Perez
1B-Santana
2B-Villar
SS-Lindor
3B-Ramirez
CF-Mercado

Have Dickerson/Luplow platoon in one corner OF spot and Reyes, Bauers, Johnson, Zimmer, and eventually Naquin for the other and DH. Bradley could also get a look at DH.

"The Indians need to figure out a way to get Bauers committed to everyday routines. On days after he would collect a few hits, by his own admission he would skip hitting in the cage. On days he went 0-for-4 he was less than receptive to hearing from coaches. "
Great info. Also contrary to the picture being spun by Tito, this smacks of immaturity or lack of professionalism. It’s difficult to imagine that a MLB player in today’s day and age has not been told about the benefits of a routine to hone their craft.
Or there’s someone in his ear giving him bad advice.

Tito criticized Bauers publicly, I don't see how he's spinning anything. He simply said Bauers responded well to the message that was given at their exit interview. We'll see if he takes that criticism to heart and starts working harder to get better.
