Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From what I heard it sounds like Cookie will be used out of the bullpen if he comes back. Anyone else hear this?
I have heard he will be used as an opener for team morale reasons at least once, but potentially more

Lol what?

He’s gonna pitch because he’s physically able and can help them win games.

Sorry but they’re not got risk his health to boost team morale or increase fan interest or whatever for one game.

If he is on a pitch count what difference does it make if he starts or relieves?

I don’t follow.

I never said anything about him relieving or starting.

Just disputing the idea of Cookie coming back as some sort of one time appearance attention grab and then maybe find a role for him later.

Maybe I misinterpreted what Moz said but I’d like to think the Indians have bigger and more thought out plans for Cookie than ‘morale booster’.

Yeah it’s also what I saw. I wouldn’t want to push him too much anyways. He’d be a great weapon out of the bullpen.

Was just poking fun at what Coach was saying the other day about Cookie potentially being used as an opener.

Don’t know if anyone heard it, but Manning said that he (either heard or thought) that the tribe were targeting a 9/1 return for Kluber and Cookie because that’s when rosters expand

That was before Kluber’s set back yesterday

He was just poking fun at the fact I said if he is healthy and able to return that he would likely get an opener start at home some point this season.

Either way he will have a innings limit/pitch count every time out so he won’t go more than an inningish every appearance.
