What's the difference from Tito having Hanley, Cargo, Naquin, Bauers, Kipnis in the cleanup spot? Not much. Blackhole all season.
And look at how fondly you speak of all of those guys.

Hey, in a perfect world Santana bats clean up, Lindor in the 3 hole, and Jose returns to form as lead-off or hitting 2nd with Mercado in the other slot. That way Bradley is at 5th or 6th.

But it hasn't been so perfect for the Tribe, you can probably categorize this as a season of hell.

I saw a chart in one of Meisels' latest articles that Ramirez, Bauers, and Martin had the 3 lowest wRC+ among AL hitters from 5/11 - 6/13. Obviously some cherry picking, very easy to do with baseball stats, and I'm not sure how many hitters qualified. With that said, it is pretty miraculous to take a step back and see the Indians are somehow 3 games above .500 despite all the things that have gone disastrous this season.

Not sure that is cherry-picking.

It's a month's worth of stats in which all three have been unusable.

I'd rather have Bradley playing and struggling a little than watching Kip hit in the 4 hole.

200 at bats for Kip he's batting .213 3hr 18rbi - That's our current #4 batter folks. I love Kip as a person but it's high time to move on from him and it's a complete failure by the front office to not have replaced him. Are they serious about winning games or not?

Indians current 4-5 batters have combined for a .208 average 7 hr and 42 rbi. Opposing pitchers have to be crapping their pants when they get to the middle of our order!!

I think his point is that he wants to set Bradley up for success instead of just throwing him to the dogs, and hoping he's slightly better than horse shit.

I feel like grabbing my post from a few pages back and just re-posting it.

I'd like to see Daniel Johnson up here already.

Between Bauers and Bradley, I think they're about equal. Neither is looking great right now, and they're the best we've got.

The most important question on the team is how to fix Jose. If you can't, you might have to consider shopping everyone and targeting your next contention window. That's why I think the last option left to us is giving him the Sano treatment and demoting him down to like Single A to let him figure shit out.

I'm still shopping Bauer.

I'd love to have Whit Merrifield on this team.

Jose, Kipnis, Martin and Bauers are combining to absolutely destroy this entire season. It's a miracle we're still in the hunt.

Brad Hand will be going to his third consecutive All Star game, two in the NL and now one in the AL. He's been remarkably consistent from year to year. If we trade him we should get an absolute haul.

Do you remember what we gave up in 2016 for 2 1/2 years of Andrew Miller? The Indians should come close or even get more for 2 1/2 years of Brad Hand.
Hand isn’t quite on the level Miller was, but I agree that it would take a quite a bit to get me to pull the trigger.

Innings pitched Strikeouts W-L Saves ERA WHIP
Miller 2014 62.1 103 5-5 1 2.02 0.80
Miller 2015 61.2 100 3-2 36 2.04 0.86
Miller 2016 45.1 77 6-1 9 1.39 0.77

Hand 2017 79.1 104 3-4 21 2.16 0.93
Hand 2018 72 106 2-5 32 2.75 1.11
Hand 2019 30.2 46 3-2 20 0.88 0.75

Miller's 2016 stats listed were at the time of trade. Hand's stats as of 6/17/19. One can argue that Hand has been as good as Miller was.

Those stats show me Miller being decisively superior to Hand in every season except for 30 innings this year.
