I assume the hope is he is full go back with the team in early September. If they can get him 3-5 starts before the playoffs (yes I’m assuming they will catch the Twins now- lol), what else does he need?

Whats interesting is this team has had adversity and had to start playing urgent baseball early in the season. Compare that to the last two that essentially coasted to the playoffs and never looked ready.
This should be a hungry prepared scrappy squad come playoff time.

I've never understood the hate Salazar has gotten in the past. Really rooting for the guy to make it back, and contribute in some way.

Granted the game didn't go the way we wanted, but he was so incredible in 2013. Had the stadium rocking in that WC game.


EDIT: Went back to look at some numbers, he was so good. If he even has 75% of the stuff he had back in 2017, he'd be a welcomed addition to the staff.

He literally had one of, if not the best changeups in baseball.

Is the organization still insisting on using Salazar as a starter this year?

I really, really want him to come out of the pen.

If you want to still use him as a "starter" I guess I'd be okay using him as an opener until we get Kluber back. Maybe let him pitch 3 innings max as this opener.

Come October, I want him to be a weapon out of the bullpen, and the workload management now might be able to keep him healthy until then.
