Z’s heart is in Cleveland, his agent says (+ PD interview with Z)

thats fine, its saturday. Also ill wait till i hear it from Windy

Michael Lee is as good a source on this as Windhorst, since he's the beat reporter closest to the Wizards, but Windhorst may report developments first because his readership will care a lot more.

I agree that there's no reason for concern. WAS and Z's agent have 8 days left to argue about money.

This guy from the LA Times says that the NBA is going to try and stop Z from coming back to the Cavs:
HOLD THAT HOMECOMING. Source says NBA has told other teams it won't let Z go back to Cavs. May be woofing with no rule against it, maybe not

HOMECOMING II: Wizards haven't even bought out Zydrunas Ilgauskas yet but everyone knows it's coming and NBA officials read papers

HOMECOMING III: NBA stopped just one now-common trade-buyout-re-sign scam-when Stackhouse admitted it--may be working on way to make it two

I think this guy is probably full of BS. The Stackhouse situation was different because he came out and said he was going back to Dallas. Z has done nothing of the sort.

The NBA can't enforce a non rule, I laugh in the face of that journalist's credibility.

However, if in fact true, how does the NBA enforce a non rule?

Perhaps the "source" is someone who wants to put a hitch into the Cavs' plans by baiting the Cavs, Z, or his agent into saying something like Stackhouse did. This is the LA Times reporting it after all.

I can't see how the NBA league office can get in the way of what Z wants to do when it is currently part of the rules.

If the Cavs and Z are smart, they'll keep quiet and go about their business, however that turns out.

I hope you are right....his agent did say his heart is in Cleveland (plus he really has never left)....I dont think the NBA can say that was prearranged though. Its the truth because his family and career is here. I will be sooooo pissed if they do that.

My heart dropped when I read this...if the NBA does this, I'll lose all respect for Stern. I'm all for amending the rule, but you don't let some do it then stop others, and you do it in the offseason.

Does the NBA have a 'for the good of the game' overriding clause like MLB? If so, Stern is the 'be all end all' in this situation if he can get the labor union on board...not that I think that's possible, since they're not exactly buddy-buddy right now.

I don't know if said rule exists, can anyone help us out?
